not that it matters but how did we drop to #5?

You ask a question that is impossible to explain without the computer data to determine the points awarded to each team.
IMHO the Wilson ITA tennis rankings make absolutely no sense!
Here is the link. If you can figure out the values assigned to each team let us all know. I sure can't explain the rankings.

I guess the second question would be does it matter where you are ranked as a team when the NCAA's roll around.

Seedings for the NCAA tournament are determined by rankings.

It is an advantage to be in the 1,2,or 3 position just so that you can avoid facing a strong team in the quarterfinals and the toughest teams in the semis.

thanks for the feedback. I just thought it was strange how we slid while we pretty much annihilated our last couple ooponents. I guess just keep winning and let the chips fall. Maybe it'd be better for us come NCAA time to be a little lower.

The new ITA team rankings are out and even after another 2-0 week, including a road victory over 15th ranked Texas A & M, tOSU men's tennis slipped to 6th on the rankings.

From The Buckeye Bits scroll on the Official site.

OSU has won its last 81 home matches. No other Big Ten team, in any sport, can match that streak. Home matches at 3 p.m. Fri. vs. Iowa & noon vs. Minn. & 5:30 p.m. vs. Toledo Sun
.

This record is unbelievable in Big ten history, one of those trivia questions that BB73 might embrace.
For the curious, the winning streak began April 6, 2003. With 6 more winnable home matches this year it could reach 87!
Have to believe this record may never be challenged by any other sport or team in the competitive Big Ten Conference.
Buckeyes are competing and winning at levels of epic proportion.
What a wonderful time to be a Buckeye fan. Go Bucks!:oh:

Maybe so, if you hadn't said that ...
