Ohio State needs the big three!!!

It was a while ago, BTB4, but I believe it was an Insiders update. He basically said he visited with Fred when he was at USC and that it was good to see him because they had gotten to know each other in San Antonio at the combine. Since USC has apparently dropped Lambert it would have been really nice to get him in for a visit with Davis this weekend.

Lambert

You know its a bit late, but Ginn and Davis could be like Zwick as far as helping to open the door to other players. Lambert would be an extrordinary addition to an allready stacked backfield, and between Youboty, Ginn and Lambert there wont be many deep balls down the sidelines and ur gunna need some musterd tocomplete the out bc if its a bit high those 3 will makeit 6 every time.

I guess what I'd like to know is, does Xavier know that if he came, Fred would. That has to be a decent selling point, and if one of them is going half-way, maybe that helps us with the other.

I have to be honest though, I'm not considering either Davis or Ginn a lock, and if we lose out on both in honest fights with other top tier programs -- you better watch out on that BN recruiting board.

All that aside, this is just more evidence that people are on the boards who have an impact, and some of the rampant over-the-top negativity (not saying it's in that thread), particularly related to JT's offenses, can and will help cost us players. But some people don't/won't get that, and will deny the efficacy of statements on the boards. I wonder how sometimes a true fan would even be willing to risk that.

To clarify, I'm talking about rampant over-the-top negativity, not something as simple as "our offense is flawed, if could be improved IMO if X, Y and/or Z."

I think recruiting almost has to be a nightmare today for the coaches and the players.

Nobody really had that much of a clue about what was going on with recruiting by a team, or who were the highly coveted players, and what teams were in on who back in the day before the internet. The internet has really turned recruiting into a whole new fan based season.

Like email, one of the unfortunate things about these boards is that it allows people to say whatever they want to or about someone without really facing the person they are talking too or possibly ever facing the person they are talking about.

I hope that most of the current players and the recruits are able to blow off a lot of the negative comments that come across the internet.

As much as all Buckeye fans would love to have the "Big 3" play in the Shoe, it is still their decision and something that they have to live with for the rest of their lives. I for one believe that these young men have the ability to make decisions based on the information that is being provided by the coaches and will make the right decisions based on that and not on what they read on some internet board.

As for some of these folks that like to view the glass the wrong way, they have to remember the long history and tradition of OSU football. OSU will continue to field a great team and the tradition will continue, even if we don't sign every recruit we want.

I came from that thread directly here. Funny. Anyway, I like what the Coach said about him being the MVP of an All Star camp at the WR position.... LAST YEAR... that's pretty impressive.

My feeling is that the offense will revolve around personnel. If we have 4 or 5 awesome receivers then why not go to the one back set and flood zones and run right by the man-blitzes on the outside. Without Maurice I look at us as being like the Cowboys- or how the Cowboys should be- attacking on the outside first... then sticking it to 'em.

Anyone else read on Rivals where Jeff Byers was trying to get Fred Davis to come to USC at the Army All Star Game and told him he needed to call Coach Carroll to give him the good news?Punk!
