Sadly didn’t get a chance to watch the game.

Were we looking ahead to Penn State?:biggrin2:

Actually wouldn’t be surprised if that was seriously the case.

BTW, did Jeremy Ruckert play today? Don't recall seeing him (but wasn't really looking) or hearing of an injury.

Now that game has ended, if someone could find me that stat graphic they showed if OSU defense in 2018 vs 2019 I’d really appreciate it....I’m trying to look into some stuff on Hafley.

There were some disappointing plays but I wouldn’t say they were looking ahead. 14 pts came off of turnovers deep in Rutgers territory. 1st team dominated. Backups didn’t come to play (with a few exceptions.)

The running game wasn’t rolling in accordance with the season’s standard; 5.2 per pop for Dobbins and 5.3 for Teague which is significantly below their averages. Further, the second team units were sleep walking; Jameson Williams dropped two passes.

The defensive line got worked on a 15-20 yard touchdown run in the first half.

I wouldn’t call it looking ahead but I got the sense they just wanted to get in and get the fuck out injury and issue free and they did just that.

    Fields threw some strikes though

It’s worth noting that Rutgers came out pretty motivated and physical. They’ve been a laughing stock and were just 53 point underdogs. At some point you need to sack up and try to not let yourself get utterly humiliated. I think there was some pride at play there.

Only real disappointment for me was that the second team didn't have that fire to come out and compete and execute at the highest level. Didn't have that fire to say to the first team, "we're hear to push you!"

Starters got out to a 35 point lead in 1st half + 90 seconds. Looked fine but not great. Backups slept walk to a 14-14 remainder of game.
