Ohio State vs. Marshall, 2004

I hope I'm not wearing my scarlet colored glasses but I dont think its a big stretch to see both MU and UC competeing for their conf titles. Not just to make us look better, but I would really be happy for both schools if they did.

easy fellas my point was a little misunderstood, I'am not trying to turn this into bucknuts but some of the latest post have been a little negative towards jt. Everyone is entilted to their own thoughts and opinions, my point was look at what he's done and we set and second guess, which is ok as long as we don't go to negative.

SanClementeBuck: "I have a much greater respect for Marshall ball after seeing the tenacity and heart of the Herd."

Not only that, I was impressed with the coaches and they have a couple really good players there. I like what they've done with the program, and I hope they keep it up.

Look at Zach Mills numbers...poor Penn State. I'd feel more sorry for them if I didn't consider them our non-scum rival. Henne's numbers don't look that great either...he's a first time starter and compare that to Zwick's numbers. Go Zwick :)

Drew Tate doesn't look too bad either. But we really won't know much until conference play starts and everyone gets more than 1 or 2 games under their belt.

I just wanted to add in that I'm completely neutral on this issue and hoped that you guys would be interested in hearing that. :wink2:

But seriously, I thought Marshall played their hearts out, and I think their fans should be proud of their performance. MU does look like the best team in the MAC, and that loss to Troy doesn't look so bad anymore. Good Luck to the Herd!

It's just my opinion and if don't like it, too bad, don't respond. Unlike some of the other hypocritical posters who called Marshall fans inbred toothless hicks before the game, only to be 'surprised' that they weren't...I did none of that, so therefore I did not gain or lose respect for them.

I only have one complaint about the Marshall fans; the majority of them had long pants on. How, when it's 84 degrees out, can you sit in the sun in long pants? I got hot just walking by them.

It was nice to see everyone being civil with other fans.

They were very loud, too.

And other members are responding with their opinions of your post. If you don't like it ... See where this is going?

I would be curious to see if ANY of the posters (so far) on this thread called Marshall fans "inbred toothless hicks" ... I don't think anyone on this thread did so. I certainly did not. Why that would be the sole reason to gain or lose respect for Marshall is beyond me, so I would assume your conclusion is faulty. I based my respect on the way that Marshall played football and how their fans behaved ... not on some supposed "inbred toothless hick" bias that I do or do not hold.
