Game Thread Ohio State vs UNLV, 09/23/17 @ 12:00 ET (BTN)

I simulated this game in NCAA ‘14 just for laughs. It was 38-38 with 6 seconds on the clock in the 4th and the Bucks won on a field goal.

If anything close to that takes place on Saturday, there won’t be enough liquor to subdue me.

haha I use to hate that about NCAA... I'd play the tough games and rout teams 80-0 then simulate the easy ones. Once in a while I'd drop a joke of a game like OSU vs Northern Illinois and would have to hurry and turn the game off to preserve my perfect results.

Serious thoughts though I hate that Bosa said we were going to shut them out. I think they'll do a few things against us on offense but won't be able to stop our offense.

63-20.

UNLV runs the ball way too much for there to be a combined 83 points scored in this game.

UNLV runs a different style of run offense than Army does though. You aren't going to get those gut punching 3-4 yard FB runs that eat up 1st downs and clock.

IMO UNLV is going to run into a wall like Indiana did trying to run a spread rushing attack against us. UNLV doesn't have a QB near as good as Indiana's either to make up for it.

yeah basically how I look at it too... its hard to stop the triple option cold.

running the ball from a spread set is just asking for it against our defense but they probably don't have the kids to play the game OU or IU did by going down field.

They have Devonte Boyd at WR, who's projected as a 4th-5th rounder in the 18 draft. He's pretty much their only threat in the passing game though. He's only 6'1 and more of a straight line vertical threat. Not your 6'4 jump ball/back shoulder fade type guy like Indiana was throwing out.

UNLV QB is a redshirt freshman making his 3rd career start however. This will by far be the most talented defense he has faced after playing Howard/Idaho his first 2 starts.
