Game Thread Ohio State vs Wisconsin - 10/26/19, 12:00PM (FOX)

Because they will play better (or possibly worse....who knows) against us. Because they did a thing against Team A doesn't mean they'll do the same thing against Teams B C and D.

You could say the same thing about how Iowa was going to consistently move the ball against us or how would Purdue even stop us. What teams do against shitty Illinois has almost no bearing on how hard they're going to play against Ohio State.

My rebuttal to this is that Illinois wasn't the first team Wisconsin struggled against. NW beats them if they don't give up two defensive scores.

Wisconsin played 5 home games in a row. Illinois was their first conference road game. Now to make matters even better for us is the fact on the road at USF and Illinois is nothing like the Shoe. Coan will be in his first true hostile environment.

Jonathan Taylor has had fumble problems. People think rain will hurt us but IMO it hurts them worse. Their kicking game is atrocious and JT better hold onto the rock. How will Coan fair in rain in this environment.

If this was in Madison Is be more nervous. I think Sconsins got everything to lose in this game. The pressure is on them.

I question Paul Chryst's playcalling in big games. He made terrible decisions Saturday. Last year against Meshitagain JT was gashing Meshitagain and then he went to the pass and they got drilled. The guy isn't a big game coach IMO.

Exactly. Meanwhile if it is pouring with rain, that is a great neutralizer and equalizer. Do not like thought of rain. As others have mentioned, 3-4 Defense is a new wrinkle for Fields.

I’ll assume we win, but this could be harder than it should be.

Generally speaking, you're entirely right. However, Wisky didn't just lose to Illinois because they "didn't play hard". Illinois exposed and attacked their weaknesses constantly (similarly to the Purdue game last year). Quite honestly I have a lot of faith that this coaching staff will do just as good of a job as Illinois, if not better.

Damn. Stable of RBs will be put too use. Perfect time to draw up that late release to TE up the seams. Just saying. Been saying. Will continue saying and Fuck Bucky

I am preparing myself to watch the other team throw half their passes to TEs while we throw none. But yeah, the silver lining is that after 9 games of that, the TEs are open on fourth and one, third and goal, etc.

Yeah I get that and that's why I expect them to play hard and keep it MSU close for a little while.

That said how they'll consistently hang with us past 2 quarters is what I'm interested to see.

If it's rainy and cold though for sure I can see Bucky keeping this close.

They lost a ton off their defense last year and I truly think they have only been stout because of who they've played. Time will tell but I like the matchup overall.
