Ohio State Women's Basketball (2023-24 B1G CHAMPS)

A blond, blue collar player. Seems like an oxymoron. Anyway, Dorka had a solid tournament. Like the way she works the boards, even when there's one or more players trying to box her out, or collapse on her in the low post. Once again, the role players played well, just not well enough. Looked like Maryland isolated a couple of the fire plugs and shut them down (Miller & She-bron) when they started getting frisky. Gonna enjoy how the B10 teams stack up against the nation (both men and women) this year. Go Bucks!
did not see much of Bell in the Maryland game and watched most of it in fact she saw limited playing time in the second half against the weasels I hope McGuff does not chase her away

Wow, this really sucks.

I think it is time for Gene Smith to say bye-bye to McGuff. I just do not think that he has a very good coach or communicator. He can get really good players to come to Ohio State but he cannot keep them here and he has real problems recruiting Ohio high school players. Next season's team would have been pretty special with Bell still around. In watching a few of the games in the Big Ten tournament many times Bell was not even playing at crucial times. The women's team is worse than the men's team with players coming and going from all sorts of directions.

This has gotta be an interesting story. Bell was a parttimer, but when she came in, she was a difference maker. Dunno whether it was because she 'had' to take over the game, throwing off the offense, or some other weakness in her game that kept her on the pine. Maybe McGuff saw her as instant offense off the bench. Really don't know. McGuff is a great communicator as a recruiter, but not a very good game-day coach. Never see him coaching up his kids, nor do I see the assts doing it (unlike the Holtmann side of the house). Fantastic recruiter to be sure, but would rather see someone else. Anyone else opine the reasons? Still, the Bucks will be very competitive next year, but are going to be missing an important piece. Go Bucks!

13. DORKA JUHASZ, WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Like Wesson, Juhasz led her Buckeyes in scoring and rebounding for the second consecutive year, with 13.2 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. She also led the Buckeyes – who went 21-12 – with 38 blocks, and ranked second in the Big Ten in rebounding and sixth in field goal percentage (.476).

Juhasz earned first-team All-Big Ten, becoming the 18th player in program history to earn that recognition, and WBCA All-Region honors. Only a sophomore this year, Juhasz still has two more seasons at Ohio State to potentially take her game to even greater heights.
