Ohio State Women's Basketball (2023-24 B1G CHAMPS)

Say what? They are number 2 not sure what rankings you are looking at. They played a pretty decent schedule, I wouldn't say it was weak at all. Played USC and UCLA out of conference and Tennessee. Then 2 or 3 against Iowa and Indiana by NCAA tournament time plus a lot of middle road teams that play great one game and crap the next. They are at least average on SOS this year.
Should have been more clear. Very busy these days. Outside the top 5 on most of the computers. Sagarin dropped WBB ratings. Schedule strength in the 20s on some ratings. The last two weeks have brought their SOS to #11 on Massey and they are now #5 on that ranking. Others...

Real time RPI #7 SOS #20
Talismanred #7
NCAA #8
Nolan Team Net #8 SOS #28
Omni #8 SOS #15
Moore #8
CBS Sports #2

Not sure what those computers are seeing, but you can play as good as the team in front of you and these ladies look like world beaters to me.

B10 is on the upside of terrific this year. As the premier basketball league this season (IMHO), most of the losses on the schedule have been to inter-league teams. This cannabalization occurs each year, where highly ranked teams lose to a lesser rated league team. Given that, it's quite apparent that the SOS will be high. Where it hurts is nationally (obviously), where another league has one front runner, and lots of lesser lights, and that frontrunner has better record, fewer losses. Given Iowa (WBB), it's taken some hits lately (tOSU, Indy, UM), it's gone from a #2 to a #6. Which makes tOSU WBB staying at #2 that much sweeter, given their win streak. There's still some games to be played obviously, and once in the Dance, there will be some teams that simply don't match up well for tOSU. Optomistic that Celeste has added the 'missing piece' (defender and scorer), she's a better defender and almost as good scorer than Taylor Mikesell, and tOSU brand of basketball doesn't seem to be played elsewhere. We'll see how the Iowa game today goes, and in the B10 tourney later this week. Here's hoping that tOSU breaks the schneid of Nati's this year! Go Buckeyes!
