First off, welcome to the boards for wrestling. We have a small but tight-nit group here for the wrestling Bucks. Meant to say that to start because I love getting wrestling updates for OSU. All contributions are welcome and appreciated.

My take on the seeds and probable outcome:

125: McCrone probably landed where he should...if he places, I would be somewhat surprised. "Somewhat" because McCrone is starting to look pretty good.
133: If there was money to be made betting on college wrestling, I would put it on Bouzakis making the finals. This will be the tourney he breaks through until he faces Fix, then takes a well-deserved 2nd place in a 4-2 type of match,
141: Mendez is a stud, but Hardy is too...I see Mendez taking 3rd after losing to Hardy in the semi's. If he beats Hardy, then he wins the damn tourney and is primed for a title run at 141.
149: D'Emilio probably places 3rd or 4th, I agree with the seed there. He won't beat Lovett and probably not Parco, but he is dead even with Henson for 3rd imo. Would be sweet to see him sneak into the finals though.
157: I can see Paddy working up to 5th/6th in this bracket. 3rd or 4th would take a great tourney, but it is doable.
165: Hepner could be 3/4th, or 5/6th with a good tourney. Can't beat Carr or Amine, but placing would be ideal.
174: Kharchla will make finals if he is healthy and likely lose to Griffith...but if that is the finals match, it will be the best of the tourney imo. That will be an all-out battle and Kharchla could pull off the upset.
184: Hoffman could win this weight. Lots of good wrestlers to get through, but I don't think anyone is very far above him. Open weight to win imo, could be a big opportunity to move up at 184 for Gavin.
197: Geog has really impressed me so far, I stand by my Kollin Moore comparison. That said, I could see him either winning or not placing at 197. Complete wildcard, but I like this kid and see a 3rd/4th type finish.
HWT: Feldman wins the title. He is criminally underrated here and there is not a guy like Coon or Steveson at heavy. There is a solid field there obviously, but one I see Feldman plowing through.

- Overalll outcome: I see us at #2 or #3, Nebraska will likely win it but we will contend with *ichigan, Iowa State, NC State and Cornell for the top spot.

Cheers @RB07OSU

McCrone, Bouzakis, Hepner, Geog and Feldman have been, "untested" at present in college. Mendez, D'Emilio, Paddy, Kharch and Hoffman's seeds are fair. We're going to need some upsets in the early rounds for those eight, nine and ten seeds. If not it's a long way back to placement.
We placed five guys last year and three of them are gone (Paddy and Mendez didn't wrestle).

Buckeyes projected fifth seems fair considering who is projected ahead of them, Nebraska, Michigan, NC State, Iowa State and who is behind them, Oklahoma State, Cornell, Oregon State, Northern Iowa and Arizona State.

GO BUCKS!

McCrone (over #4 Ventresca), Geog (over #14 Smith), and Feldman (over #16 Katka, who I think will wind up in the top 10) had tough matches against VTech that they won...granted that is just one match for each and a dual meet is different than a tourney, but those 3 showed a lot of good wrestling to make me think they can keep rolling. Feldman in particular I think will be a star here, he has a great opportunity to leap up in the rankings...but I agree he doesn't have any wins yet that would warrant a much higher seed. Bouzakis is going to be a good one, he is just going through a rough patch for whatever reason.

I agree that Mendez, D'Emilio, Paddy, Kharchla and Hoffman all got fair seeds, though I think Paddy and Hoffman place higher than seeded. Wilcox could score some points with Hepner out at 165.

A 5th place projection is not unreasonable at all with the teams that are in the tourney. I just think we will best Iowa State and NC State for 3rd, could also pass up *ichigan for 2nd in the perfect storm scenario. I see the top 5 team scores as being very tight this year. There are a lot of weights that the teams above us could

Hendrickson is officially out per FLO. Didn't believe he was going to be there. But it's officially a test Feldman will miss.
Davison, Bastida, Ghadiali (who I believe is also undervalued) present a challenge no matter who they wrestle. Feldman is going to be a great Buckeye but he's going to have to beat some monsters who can also wrestle. His low single has been so good and he's been quick enough not to get stuck underneath.
Agreed on Bouzakis. He's said he's, "still figuring it out." He'll be fine. Wilcox beat Hepner 3-2 in a wrestle off (talk of controversy in CBUS). FWIW
I believe come March, NCST is gonna be top four at NCAA's and Michigan ahead of them. But if I knew anything I'd be rich...
GO BUCKS!

You guys are making me a tad hinky about plunging into B10+. Want the wrestling, and women's (tOSU) basketball. Just got back from C'bus, visiting daughter for Tday. Went to teh Shoe for Minnie, C deck like did with Dad, and to the Schott for wbb against Cornell, six rows up on baseline. We'll see. Anyway, appreciate the help/assistance and feedback. Sitting with bated breath to see Oregon lose, Bama lose, FSU lose, and see how Committee evaluates a one loss Texas vs one loss tOSU....Go Bucks!
