Think the Jets didn't miss Pete Kendall last night? Rookie Jacob Bender gave up a first-quarter sack to Justin Tuck, and Adrien Clarke had a false start at the Jets' 1 in the second quarter. Still early on this one, though. Left guard won't mean the difference between a playoff berth and a .500 season. That said, it's too bad the Jets couldn't have kept Kendall, whose veteran presence and leadership would have been helpful.
A quick look at what Jets, Giants have showed us -- Newsday.com
L'Affaire Pete Kendall has a legitimate chance to blow up in the Jets' faces. Jacob Bender, the rookie left guard forced to sink or swim, didn't get out of the deep end of the pool. Ask Tim Donaghy about the odds of the Nicholls State novice becoming John Hannah - even Dave Cadigan - over the next two weeks. Adrien Clarke would seem to have the job by default.
