Tom Archdeacon: 'That's not Ohio State football'

NEW ORLEANS ? The way it sounds, some Ohio State players were rougher on each other than they were on Louisiana State.
"I couldn't believe that guys were fighting with other guys, this isn't a barroom. You don't need to be fighting with your own teammates. We were here to play football, (but) some guys didn't get that," a still-stunned Alex Boone, the massive Ohio State tackle, said as he stood in the middle of the nearly empty Superdome field an hour after his Buckeyes had been embarrassed by LSU, 38-24, in the BCS Championship Game.

COLUMBUS, Ohio
- Ohio State offensive tackle Alex Boone made a decision about his future with the Buckeyes this weekend.
Boone told 10TV's Dom Tiberi that he will return to Ohio State for his senior year.
He spent the weekend discussing his options with his family and decided that returning for one more year was the best decision, Tiberi reported.
Boone said he excited about his decision and was looking forward to the upcoming year.

Only having to replace one offensive lineman is going to be glorious. Only replacing two offensive starters is glorious.

Now, come on home JL, so we will have 18 returning starters next year. A team that went to the National Championship Game in a rebuilding year retaining 82% of its starters would be really, really hard to stop.

Boone coming back is absolutely huge. It gives Mike Adams a year to learn behind him, though I guess if he is ready Big Mike could compete at RT and learn both spots. In any event, Boone was an absolute animal this year and very dominant. I don't think there was an OL I was more impressed with on our team and getting him back is going to help a lot.

Great news again, if Alex works hard this offseason, he can become a dominant LT and position himself as a very, very high draft pick (and also help tOSU win some games :wink2:)

He should provide good senior leadership on the offensive side of the ball, as well.

Hell yeah...now let's keep all of these guys healthy!

I think this was a great decision by Alex this year and Barton last year to come back - it will hopefully help solidify Alex's position as a first round pick.

Great point by RB07...I too think this allows Mike Adams to grow slowly into the position. Boone being forced to play early in his career (in 05) helped him learn quick but IIRC, Boone was slowly eased into the starting role.

My friends up in Cleveland who know his family were convinced in September this would be his money year (as Santonio put it). It is great to see him prove them wrong!
