OL Andree Tyree (official thread)

I'm friends with Andree, and I talked to him a few minutes back. He says he isn't in Tressell's doghouse, but he has been hurt and he's frustrated because he thought he had a real good chance to start at LG.

He may be not telling me the truth (we're just buddies, not best friends or anything), and he may not be proud of it, but he looked to be in good shape, that's all I can say.

Very nice kid, very good work ethic. I've had 3 classes with him and he puts his teammates to shame with effort.

More Practice Notes

"John Kerr's situation is "departmental policy". They wouldn't elaborate.

Ted Ginn, out of 24 periods of practice was 21 on defense, three on offense. Tressel did say Ginn would do limited things on offense.

Frost is officially a TE, not a DE.

Hoobler is officially a LB, not a TE.

Maurice Hall practiced today and seems to be 100%."

I was glad to see this kid make an impact in his last game. Every year, Coach Tressel pulls a rabbit out of his hat against scUM, and this year, Tyree has long ears.

Tyree played a great game yesterday as the third TE/third Tackle. He sealed off the back side and helped open holes for Pittman like a 5th year senior should.

I hope Tress had a game ball for him yesterday. He waited 5 years for this, and he kicked ass.

After 5 years in the program, what a great thing for Andree to get a lot of playing time and make valuable contributions in a classic win against scUM.

I'm sure this pair of gold pants will be very special to him.

Great job, Andree!

Indeed, I love it when kids stick in there even when they are'nt getting the pub or their careers have not gone as planned- great game by Andre.

JT does the one thing LLLLoyd does not- he pulls the Ace out of his sleeve and slaps the shit outta LLLLoyd with it every (4 of 5) year.

OUTSTANDING!

Make sure to check out Mili's clips of The Game.

Tyree just absolutely buries the left side of the LOS on Pittmans game winning TD. One of the best blocks of the year by anyone.

Outstanding block! Andree snow-plowed at least three defenders out of the play.

I mentioned this in another thread, but it bears repeating - Andree Tyree has been in the program for five years, but he has never lettered. I hope that yesterday's memorable performance was enough for him to earn his first Buckeye letter!
