OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

noticed pedon began following tyler bertram at least a few days ago. not so sure about this one. plays for renaissance (ny) on the nike circuit. listed as a point guard, he's dished out only 11 assists through 16 games and has attempted only 13 free throws. of his 120 attempts, 104 have been 3-pointers. he's a very good shooter, though. upside? a 6'4" jon diebler. downside? austin grandstaff.

as starbucks has told me in private messages and i absolutely agree with him now, carton to osu probably opens us up to liddell or jackson-davis. and perhaps others we've not really considered. carton on top of gaffney is the blue-chip stamp of approval. players may be fighting amongst themselves to be the third commitment.
Maybe that is why Holtmann got his back down to Augusta while DJ Carton was on his official and got back to have dinner with him. You two guys are right on the money. This has got to help when it comes to bringing other top talent to Ohio State. I would prefer Jackson-Davis but I would be satisfied with Liddeli:biggrin:

I would actually prefer Lidell at this point, I just think his game would blend in better with the players already on board, and he would fit in with the positionless style of play that Holtmann is adapting and last but not least I just would prefer we had a least one player in the class that does not try to bolt right after their first season on campus.

Edit: After going back and reading my post I just think it's funny how the addition of one great player can change the conversation from "I hope we get" to "I prefer we get" lol

that's my thinking, too. when specifically looking at gaffney and kaleb, liddell may mesh a little better than someone who is pretty much a true center. liddell also satisfies some wing needs. furthermore, liddell rather than tjd is a nice buffer before securing a possible/probable commitment from loveday.

all that being stated, liddell versus tjd is 1a versus 1b. i could never find fault with someone arguing tjd over liddell.
