I know Ohio State is going to attempt to redeem themselves, but I think USC would, also. I'm sure the Trojans feel like they've been better than OSU since 2001, and seeing how they've dismantled the 2002 Big Ten co-champ(Iowa), the 2003 Big Ten Champ Michigan, the 2006 UM Team that was the assumed #2 in the Land, and this year's Illinois team who was the only one to beat OSU during the regular season, makes one wonder. Having said this, I think OSU loses to USC, and Illinois. Illinois', for the most part, has been giving OSU fits since 2002.

Winning at USC would be extremely tough as they have a 2 weeks to prepare for our little visit.
And winning at Wiscy and Illinois will not be easy either.
On the face of it, we will contend for the Big Ten crown, but possibly fall short.
Again, it depends on how many leave early for the NFL and what impact the Brew Crew have.
10-2

I think we will lose one or two linebackers, between little animal and freeman, but there are many people have game time experience to take their place. We need some big and faster wide receivers (same build as Ginn, Gamble and Jenkins) to explode the passing game. We have good hand guys but I do not think we have anyone who can go up and over a defender to get the ball.
USC will be a tough game, but the entire offense and most of the defense (depends on who goes/stays) has big game experience. Booty struggles after he is hit a few times. Beanie will be a big difference in this game because it will help control to ball.
Illinois will also be tough but with mendenhall gone, we will have to see who they replace him with.
Wiscy is always a tough place to play. It seems to be a night game and rainy too. Is PJ Hill coming back? They will be tough.
11-1 (either USC or Wiscy will bite us)

I'll guess that they'll only lose 1...at USC. But with that loss early in the year, it should still be good enough to get us back to the title game. Imagine that...3 in a row...and you know what they say about the third time...it's the charm...I hope!

Good catch Guru.
Therefore, with a quarterback that has little or no experience in big games, they will rely on the run more. Our defense is designed to stop the run first. Tip the tables to Wiscy; if we win at USC (probably a night game?), we should be able to handle them. Undefeated season! Scarlet and Grey will invade Florida!

I'm not saying that isn't possible, but if OSU does have 1 loss, in an odd sense, it can't be to USC. In fact, I'm willing to bet OSU has to run the table, and everyone else lose at least once to make it. Because, if everything is pretty equal, just like the system did to UM in 2006 and Va Tech in 07 after some "re-evaluating", after these past 2 performances by OSU, the system may say enough's enough.

I think we will got 13-0 with a bowl win in the Rose Bowl. I think there will be another team with no loses, and they will play some one loss team even though TOSU is having the better season....just because the powers that be want to keep us out of the national championship game!

The USC game is going to be ugly.

The USC game might not be as tough as you think -- they are losing A LOT on defense (Rivers, Ellis, Jackson all come to mind as seniors in '07). Maualuga might go to the NFL early. On the offensive side, losing your QB is never a good thing, especially considering Sanchez will only have one game under his belt next year before OSU rolls into town. Washington is also a senior, although I know that McKnight played very well in the Rose Bowl. In short, I know that Carroll recruits very well, so he should be able to fill the holes. I am just saying that he has a lot of holes to fill.

By no means am I saying that this game will be a cake walk or even a win for us. In fact, if I had to predict right now, I think there's a better chance that we lose. However, saying the game is going to be ugly is inaccurate.

OSU schedule

I think we have a good shot at going 13-0. Reason why: People said this was a rebuilding year... Guess what next season we will be built up and ready to go. However, Michigan will now run the spread offense and if we can defend that and get some good plays on offense that should be a win. The another team with the spread offense is Minnesota. i know a gophers fan who is a big fan of the spread offense and thinks it is unstoppable. I beg to differ.:bicker: Examples: Pitt vs. WVU, USF vs. WVU
