I was curious too and checked out the brochure from which that chart came. It is available here: news.umt.edu/2012/10/bestcollegetown.pdf.

The AEIR rates the towns based on, broadly, Academic Environment, Quality of Life, and Professional Opportunity.

That list is full of dumb.

#1 College Town: Ithaca, NY
#1 Small Metro: That Whore Up North
#1 Mid Size Metro: San Jose, CA
#1 Major Metro: Boston, MA (Can agree with this one)

Also, it looks like the $EC $EC $EC did not fare well.

EDIT: WTF!? No Wilmington, OH? My Quakers will not be happy with this omission.

Joe Nocera, who's been attacking the ncaa for awhile, wrote a column in the NYT recently about the Rutgers mess and made one reference (negative) about JoePed. Sure enough, I scroll down to the comment section, which by that time was up to around 300, and within the first 10 posts a Paterno cultist had appeared attacking the comparison and telling everyone they had no idea what the true FACTS! and EVIDENTS were.

So one of the mongoloids who I duped into the whole Rally 4 Resignations debacle (and the one who really picked up the challenge and ran with it like Forest Fucking Gump) is now running for a spot on Ped Aggy's board of trustees. Apparently, undying devotion to JoePed and an IQ like a stump are the prime requisites.

Ex-PSU officials to face charges
Three former Penn State administrators accused of covering up abuse complaints about Jerry Sandusky lost a set of rulings Tuesday, allowing their criminal cases to move forward.

Judge Barry Feudale denied an attempt to throw out the grand jury report backing up the accusations and ruled against two other defense requests. As the judge who oversaw the grand jury, Feudale said he no longer has jurisdiction.

Feudale said he would not have granted the defendants' request that the charges be thrown out and emphasized that the case was out of his hands once the grand jury issued its report. But the judge did provide an analysis of the defense arguments that, he said, led him to conclude their motions lacked merit.

Defendants Gary Schultz, Tim Curley and Graham Spanier are charged with perjury, obstruction, endangering the welfare of children, failure to properly report suspected abuse and conspiracy.

The three had sought to exclude the testimony of Penn State's former general counsel Cynthia Baldwin, based on her actions as she accompanied the men to grand jury appearances in Harrisburg in early 2011. The defendants argued that Baldwin's actions violated their right to legal counsel, but Feudale said it ''strains credulity to infer that they were somehow deluded or misrepresented by attorney Baldwin.''

Let's start the trials and dig up all the dirt on the "Big 4" and Ped State. Will be fun to see who plays "Let's Make A Deal" first. Once the trials start it will be "every man( and I use the term very loosely) for himself".

"We have been unaware of how a predator behaves," Sue Paterno said at a program celebrating Child Abuse Awareness Month in Pennsylvania. "In many cases, we unknowingly helped him 'groom' his victims while we thought we were helping a child achieve self-esteem and find a better life."

"The last 17 months have been filled with disbelief, horror, the pain of loss, sleepless nights, praying for the victims and for peace of mind for those who unwittingly were too naive to recognize the signs of abuse,"

Sue Paterno "we didn't know" spin. The day after a judge ruled against the three stooges.

Unless JoePed told the old bat everything, I tend to believe that she was in the dark. I just can't imagine JoePed coming home one night and saying, "well, ol' Jer finally got caught banging a kid in the shower. Now, I've gotta order Spanier and Curly to bury this mess and give that motherless ginger a job to keep him quiet too. We can't have anything tarnishing my image and Grand Experiment."

No, I'm pretty sure the sick old bastard kept that--and much more--from his wife.

Since JoePed died, there is no one around to beat her into silence:

"Now, look, let's get this straight. I think if we played Texas five times, they're going to beat us four times. Now I'm going to go home and beat up my wife." - JoePed, after Texas game (???? year)
