PF Jared Sullinger (2x 1st Team ALL B1G & All American, Anyang KGC, S.Korea)

Sullinger leads way as McDonald's All-American rosters announced - USATODAY.com

By Jim Halley, USA TODAY

At 6-9 and 260 pounds, Jared Sullinger considers himself knowledgeable when it comes to the best pizza - Donatos - or barbecue - Pig Iron - in Columbus, Ohio.

"Those are still mainstays," says Sullinger, a power forward for Northland (Columbus) and the only player in the 2010 McDonald's All American Basketball Game who will play in his hometown. The March 31 game is scheduled for Value City Arena on the campus of Ohio State. Sullinger has signed a letter of intent to play for OSU next season. He is one of 48 boys and girls named Thursday to play in the McDonald's games.

Playing in such a big game just 10 minutes from his house also could mean a little pressure. But that's something Sullinger, the leading player on the No. 1 team in the USA TODAY Super 25 rankings, has become accustomed to.

The 2010 Naismith Awards for boys high school basketball are a family affair.

Jared Sullinger of Northland High School in Columbus was named boys player of the year today by the Atlanta Tipoff Club. His father, James "Satch" Sullinger was named coach of the year for guiding Northland to a 21-0 record and a No. 1 national ranking through most of the season.

Jared Sullinger, a 6-foot-9 senior center who averages 24.5 points, becomes the first Columbus-area player to win the Naismith Award. He is the second Ohioan to win, joining 2003 winner LeBron James of Akron. He also is the second Ohio State signee to win; Greg Oden of Indianapolis won the award in 2006.

Congrats dude! Jared is going to be a BEAST!!! He already is. I am so impressed with how he's improved his athleticism this year and how polished he is around the basket. We already know he can rebound like no other.

He's a guy who's going to come in and be a force immediately.
