Pittsburgh Steelers (official thread)

Saw they released Gary Russell. I'll assume that means that Mendenhall is completely healthy......

Considering Russell was making peanuts and there is no guarantee about Mendenhall until he starts using that shoulder I tend to believe Russell did something that angered the FO.

They traded their 2nd roud pick to the (insane) Broncos.

So the Steelers now have 3 third rounders, 2 5th's, 1 6th and 3 7ths.

No way 10 rookies make the Steelers team next year. I do like the 3 third rounders, they can do some damage with that.

Missouri's coach said 'you're a better football team when' Hood's around, and the Steelers couldn't agree more

Profile of Hood.

Unlike my pro baseball team, I just trust the coaches on any moves the Steelers make.

I do find the emphasis on charachter interesting when contrasted with the Bengals who take yet another high upside/questionable charachter guy in the Bama tackle.

Bump for 2009.

We Steeler fans are getting complacent. :wink2:

Looks like Sweed is getting it in year 2 and Sepulveda is back. Add Mendenhall in the mix at RB and its like they got bonus draft picks or something. The WR stable is loaded, the RB stable is very good, the TE's are good and I think the QB is ok.

The defense is the defense. I have to suppress my gag reflex when cheering for Woodley but he and Harrison are beastly.

Much like OSU this team appears stacked everywhere but OL. Unlike OSU the Steelers don't have much personnel turnover here that gives you hope for much improvement.

Then again they just won a SB with this OL so its hard to get too critical.

If they can stay relatively healthy I like the Steelers chances vs anyone.

What did you think of #33,Redman? He's the one who punched in the 2 touchdowns.
Dennis Dixon looked good!

He looks as though he could be our short yardage/goalline specialist. He did a nice job of moving forward after getting hit.

Nice to see a Steeler RB with a little led in the old pencil again in short yardage situations. Its been missing since Bettis left.

I try hard no to get too optimistic about teams I like but this team is loaded.

Looks like we may even have a return game this year. Wallace can fly.

Burnett looks like a good athlete at corner but he better stop fumbling punts. I think Ratliff might be a nice addition to the secondary.

Isaac is Redman's first name! I watched the game over on NFL channel again the other night!
