Does want.

If I have to choose between an offensive recruit and a defensive recruit for the Urban Meyer Buckeyes I will generally go with the defensive guy. I think our offense will always be able to score points. I believe what Bill Walsh said, that offense is primarily scheme and defense is primarily talent.

I fully agree, and even Moreso Dlineman. I rather have a Dlineman, especially a DE first and foremost to keep the pressure on the QB and get the ball back to the offense

The last kid in I saw jump off the screen at me like this guy in an all star game that I thought OSU had no chance at, then found out we did was Santonio Holmes.

Lets hope this one turns out the same way

Very interesting prospect. Kid looks very rangy. Has the look of an old-school LB from the '70's w/arm/hand wraps, Jack Lambert type. On that film, he looks too lean to be ready for action right away. Give this kid to coach Marotti for at least one season and away we go. I like him.

Honestly, one of the most impressive films I have seen from a defensive player. First, the closing ability for a kid that size is just not even fair...closes in a heartbeat and takes the perfect angle to the ball. Second, his ability to use a blocker to his advantage is elite...blows up his gap at the right angle to allow the rest of his defense to make the play if he can't. Third, comfort in coverage...his ability and feel in space as a coverage LB is so advanced at this stage. Fourth, sheer athleticism and size (this is his #1 strength though)...he just does things that nobody else his size can do at that level and I almost enjoyed his QB highlights as much as him on defense. Fifth, the ability to use his wing to shed blocks and almost simultaneously engage the ball carrier, while using his legs to drive through the tackle. Sixth, his ability to sift through traffic and find the ball. Seventh, play recognition and football acumen...he digresses a play so quick off his keys and even on a few zone reads, he was uncanny in crashing at the right time and following the QB at others. Eighth, when he hits you, you know you've been hit...not only is he huge and travel at high velocities, he squares up so well and drives the ball carrier into the ground. Ninth, he can really throw the ball...doesn't really impact his assessment on defense but I really like a player that is just an all around athlete. Finally, the dude is also the starting QB...his endurance has to be unreal to play that many snaps at a high level...things like that make me think he would choke someone over a game of checkers. Just does everything possible to help his team win.

As for comparison in HS...I see a stronger and more technically sound Mike Mitchell. I thought he would be a sure-fire DE but I think he could thrive at MIKE as well. I am with @MD Buckeye ...this guy is far and away #1 on my board moving forward and I think we have positioned ourselves nicely to make a run. Plus I think what he wants and what we provide align really nicely, plus we have the best closer in college football. Let's make it happen Urbs.
