Pre-Game Festivities!!!

up too early

I was up before the hotel's coffee was out - it's gonna be long day!

I've had a piece of King Cake this morning, which definitely isn't traditional but I think very appropriate given the venue. For karma, I think ya gotta play like the locals.

We partied hard last night - actually all day yesterday. But, last night reminded me of Friday nights at the VC. We hung out at Cat's Meow for awhile, and even though the crowd was more purple than scarlet it was definitely football fever.

Today...we're going to treat this just like late starts at home. We'll probably hit the streets around noon. Must start with Bloody Mary's - it's the law!

I've got my earrings from the '02 season when I worked at Hineygate, my Michigan '02 silver football beads and this season's buckeye necklace.
Just got back to the hotel room from the Buckeye BCS bash at the convention center. There were ~20,000 fans there at its most crowded - lots of energy. The mayor (Nagin) spoke to the crowd, as did Gee, Archie, Gene Smith and the team captains. There are seriously alot of Buckeyes here.
Got to watch it live on the web. Looked like a crazy time. I really didn't expect to see to much of the team but was glad to see the captains and of course Tressel.

I did not sleep much last night. I'm going nuts!!

FEAR THE VEST!!

GO BUCKS!!

Instructors are not required to allow make-up work

Friday and Saturday could best be described for many Ohio State students with two words: road trip.

Some students packed up and headed out to New Orleans for tonight's National Championship Game Friday evening, and others left as early as Thursday. But classes will still be held today and professors are not required to excuse absences.

Tom Myers, a junior in human nutrition, said he and his roommate, Zach Macqueen, would travel to New Orleans Friday night.

Myers said he did not have time to speak with his professors about the missed Monday classes because the decision to drive to the game was "out of the blue." Yet Myers said he does not believe he will have any problems with academics.

cont'd...

I'm at work now. It was kind of easy to concentrate this morning but getting harder. Arg this is going to be hell for the rest of the day. I will need to go to the gym later and relieve some stress. I found that the game will get me pumped up. Go home and drink a couple in my pre-frosted Buckeye glasses. Root-root-root.

I am officially so pumped up right now for 815...I'm sitting at work in pain. Unfortunately, Im in a stuckup east coast city, so I have no one to share my Buckeye pride with!!:oh:

:io: I can't take it much longer. I'm going home pretty soon. I did get a good sized bucket of oysters here at work today for the game tonight.
