DiHard's Picks for Sept. 11

TOP MATCHUPS
SEPTEMBER 11

Déjà vu…groundhog day…whatever you want to call it….the best game this week is the one that was cancelled from last week. If Hurricane Ivan cancels this one…I say they call the whole thing off. Fwiw im only updating the line on the noles-canes game….

Game of the Week: FSU @ MIAMI
Spread: Miami –1 1/2
The Game: Bring your poncho’s…the best mudders are going to win this one. Miami lost a ton of talent on the defensive side of the ball and the offense isn’t all that great. FSU has great experienced talent on both sides of the ball….but the weather may negate that advantage. Should I dare say that this game is going to come down to field goal kicking? Xavier Beitia (fsu) has already missed two game winning tries against Miami in his career. This will be his third…. It’s strange to think that the biggest ACC game of the year is being played the first weekend of the season.
My Prediction: FSU covers in any weather scenario.
Why: Weather and the fact that Miami just owns FSU. If the weather is not a factor I would take the Seminoles by 6.
Would I bet on this game: Yes-take the Noles

Game 2: MICHIGAN @ NOTRE DAME
Spread: Mich –13 1/2
The Game: Was playing Henne instead of Gutierrez a ploy or is it a sign of what is to come? Notre Dame lost to BYU last week…were they looking ahead…no way!! What makes this pick tough is that Miami (OH) had the wolves in some trouble before they tossed an interception that was returned for a touchdown. Were the rodents looking ahead?? I doubt that as well….heck lloyd asked and received an extra week of practice because he was so worried about the vaunted redhawks…
My Prediction: Michigan by 19
Why: Notre Dame just isn’t very good. Period. The entire season for the Domers is on the line this week…this will result in a tough first quarter…but, in the second half, reality will set in and the Irish will be faced with the obvious notion that the season is gone in early September….they will fold quickly after that…I apologize to all the Herbstreits and others out there…but a .500 finish for Notre Dame is the best they can hope for….
Would I bet on this game: No

Game 3: GEORGIA @ SOUTH CAROLINA
Spread: UGA -8
The Game: For the second straight week the Cocks make the prediction list. Both teams looked really good last week…making this a tough call. This is a game that I believe Vegas has dead on in regards to the spread… If Pinkins and Summers for USC stay healthy and play the entire game I go with the Gamecocks..
My Prediction: USC by 1
Why: Even Lou Holtz is having trouble complaining about this GameCock team…Barring injuries I think South Carolina can not only cover, but pull off the upset.
Would I bet on this game: Yes-I’d take S.Carolina to cover and wouldn’t be afraid to call a win.

Game 4: PENN STATE @ BOSTON COLLEGE
Spread: BC –2 1/2
The Game: Wow…Am I seeing this correct??? Boston College favored over the Nittany Lions?? No way. No way. This is a game where I think Vegas either knows something that I don’t…if not…I am just licking my chops. In this game I am throwing a very large number of benjamins on the squad from Happy Valley.
My Prediction: PSU by 12
Why: Penn State is going to end the season as one of the most improved teams in the country…BC struggled with Ball State and plays in the Weak Least…Every year there are a couple of games I jump on…and this is one…the only negative is that it is much earlier in the year than I would like it to be…
Would I bet on this game: I have already bet large on this game….

Game 5: MARSHALL @ OHIO STATE
Spread: tOSU –16 ½
The Game: 16 ½ just seems too large…I mean…who really thinks Tressel will keep the offense wide open now that he knows his defense is as good as usual..?? Then again the Herd just lost to Troy State….This all boils down to whether or not JT and Company keep the pedal down when the Herd raises the white flag…I think they will and the Buckeyes could win by as many as 30.
My Prediction: tOSU by 20
Why: In 01-02 the Herd has lost to Florida and VaTech by an average of 29 ½ points…The Herd doesn’t stand a chance in this game if Ohio State plays its young players and keeps the pedal to the metal…If the Bucks get super conservative in the second half….the Herd could cover.
Would I bet on this game: yes

Season Record vs. the spread: 3-4
Season Record on games I bet on: 2-3
Season Record on Locks:
This is my first lock of the year.

Golfing guru

I need your help fellas, Iam from a small town in western ohio shouldn't even say town its an exempted villiage. I know its the middle of football season but I have to send this out. Mechanicsburg High school senior Amanda Rutan, I know her pretty well grew up in my parents home they babysat for her growing up. She is a stellar golfer but not many big offers coming her way being from small town and coach kinda ( how would you say lost!) In the last 3 weeks she has broken her own record twice she shot a 38 for 9 at Indian Springs and then last night she shot a 34 at Indian Springs. Im biased but she 4.0 student taking all those advanced courses etc. Never been in trouble I'd like to help her, I'd really like her to be a buckeye with some real coaching she could be something special not that she isn't now. thx in advance for to who ever reads this.

[bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] - Good Chance
[bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] - Slight Chance

Maurice Wells

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Nothing has changed recently and it still looks like it’s going to come down to USC, Ohio State and Georgia Tech. The Buckeye staff is still recruiting him harder than any other school and have been on him from the beginning. That coupled with having family in the area puts us over the top and Wells ends up a Buckeye.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “The top 3 continue to be tOSU, GTech and USC but MoW has also expressed interest in Tenn, ND and Maryland. He has visits set up with Maryland, USC and tOSU (scUM game). It is clear that he is a tOSU priority and with family in the C-bus area I continue to like their chances.”

Selwyn Lymon

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “We should get a visit out of Lymon and that will only help our chances. If Zwick has more games like the one against Marshall and fewer like the one at NC State it would help us. Purdue has the inside track and Joe Tiller is all over Selwyn, not to mention they are lighting up the scoreboard. In the end I think he picks the Boilermakers but a game day visit to the Horseshoe could make things interesting.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Selwyn almost made it to the tOSU/Marshall game but has committed to officially visit tOSU (along with scUM and Purdue). Joe Tiller is recruiting Selwyn pretty hard, even showing up at one of Selwyn’s recent HS games. There is no question that he would complete a great tOSU WR recruiting class but it seems like Purdue is the team to beat. It probably won’t help having Orton putting up big passing numbers this year.”

Adam Myers White

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Despite the fact AMW may take a few visits Ohio State remains the team to beat. Location, the Underwoods and the fact there is no better school for a DB to go than Ohio State is too much for other schools to overcome. AMW will be a Buckeye.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “AMW has had a rough start to HS season (injuring his ankle). He claims publicly that he will take all his official visits and does not have a favorite. But he is not a big fan of the publicity that recruiting brings and his parents, ex-teammates (Underwoods) would like him to choose tOSU. I would not be surprised if he is our next verbal commitment.”

Shawn Oatis

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Earlier in the year I was even more confident about the Buckeyes landing Oatis. Notre Dame’s strong start, the BYU game excluded, has to help their chances. Mike Stoops down at Arizona is a factor is well. Oatis is scheduled to visit in October and should like what he sees. In the end chances are he becomes a Buckeye.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Shawn seemed on the verge of crossing off ND from his leader list but with their recent two game winning streak they most likely will continue to be a factor. Add Arizona and the Stoops mystique and tOSU will have some tough competition to secure Shawn’s commitment. We do have Ryan Williams and dad working in tOSU’s favor and a game day visit to the Shoe will be awfully tough to beat. I still think he becomes a Buckeye.”

Rico McCoy

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “We definitely need a couple linebackers in this class and McCoy is the highest rated LB we’re still in on. If he was impressed with scUM’s facilities he will be blown away after his trip to Columbus. Early on Miami seemed like our biggest competition but it appears it may come down to us and scUM. I like our chances after he visits here.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “ Miami, tOSU and scUM appear to be frontrunners for Rico. He seems to like scUM’s facilities but a visit to tOSU should change that. Miami leads on a lot of LB/DE types which could push Rico further down their priority list. Coach Fickell has done a good job selling Rico on the benefits of tOSU and the opportunity he has to play early in his career Let’s hope Corny Greene and son will continue helping us and a game day visit closes the sale.”

Andre Mathis

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “There hasn’t been a whole lot of news on Mathis but the Buckeyes are constantly mentioned among his favorites. If we get a visit you have to like our chances, especially with a chance for immediate playing time after a redshirt year. It’s likely to come down to Tennessee, Florida and the Buckeyes and we have as good a shot as anyone. Hopefully Coach Daniels can work his PA magic one more time.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “His favorites include tOSU, Florida, TN, PSU, scUM and scUM St. But it appears that tOSU, Florida and maybe TN standout above the rest. He is no hurry to decide and will take all his visits. tOSU is the closest of his favorites and he is developing a relationship with Coach Daniels. It is still too early to get a read on his recruitment but on paper we should stand a pretty good chance.”

Justin King

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks] “If we get a visit out of King I would upgrade him to two Buckeye leaves. As it is I don’t think we have any kind of shot with him. People at the Big 33 game overheard King talking up scUM and nothing I’ve heard makes me think those reports weren’t accurate. USC and Penn State will be players but in the end I think he heads north to play with Mundy and Breaston.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “In the most recent update King stated that he has no favorite between scUM, PSU, USC, Florida and tOSU but if I had to guess tOSU is currently last on that list w/scUM and PSU in the lead. It seems like we have an uphill battle for Justin but he really respects Coach T and Daniels. Plus he is friends with Teddy, Jamario and Devon. I think in the back of his mind he knows that he could be part of an incredible group of skill players at tOSU. But I don’t really think that will be enough and it will be either scUM or PSU. Plus you can never count out Petey and the Jet.

Sean Smalls

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Earlier on in the process it seemed like Smalls was ready to verbal to the Buckeyes. Not sure if the Malcolm Jenkins verbal changed things but Smalls doesn’t seem like the slam dunk he once was. Smalls is a versatile athlete that could play corner or receiver here. Getting him on campus for to watch a game in the Shoe would increase our chances.”

86 – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “I think the odds continue to decrease that Smalls will be Buckeye. With two CB commits already and the need for a 3rd WR I think there is good chance that we don’t take a 3rd CB in this class. I would put the odds at 50/50 for Smalls becoming a Buckeye.”

Alex Daniels

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “It’s very hard to say where Daniels is going to end up. If he wants to leave Columbus like his mother wants him to you’d think he’d start setting up some visits fairly soon. I’m still not sure why a defensive player from Columbus would want to go elsewhere but Mom may force Daniels out of Ohio. We probably have a 50/50 shot at this point.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “There continues to be mixed reports on Alex. Not only does he like OU but he keeps hoping for offers from LSU and Miami. It really seems like he is just looking for the opportunity to leave C-bus, just like his mother wants. But on the positive side he has gone to both of tOSU’s home games and he has yet to set up a visit to any other school including OU. But if I had to predict, I would say he will go elsewhere in the end.”

Ronnie "Taz" Wilson

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “All signs point to Taz ending up a Buckeye and what a fantastic addition to the class he would be. If a visit to the Horseshoe for the scUM game in November doesn’t sway him nothing will.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Posters of BP have gotten to know Taz a little bit in the last couple of months. He seems like a great young man and would be a great asset to tOSU. He has already visited unofficially for the Cincy game, he was at the NCST game (on an NCST official) and he will visit the Buckeyes officially for the scUM game. His other options appear to be Florida and NCST but in the end the allure of being a Buckeye will win him over.”

CJ Jackson

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “With Zwick, Smith, Boeckman in the fold and Schoenhoft on the way there doesn’t look like there is much of an opportunity at quarterback. CJ is pretty adamant about wanting to play QB in college. If he’s open minded about where he will play I think CJ could be a Buckeye in the end.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “CJ visited tOSU unofficially at the Cincy game w/Taz and will take his official at the scUM game. He seems to like tOSU and developed a bond with Troy Smith and Santonio. There appears to be mutual interest between tOSU and CJ (who claims a tOSU offer). As long as CJ remains flexible about his position I think there could be a good chance that CJ will be a Buckeye.”

Javon Ringer

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “*Offer the kid.* Javon is having a fantastic senior year. We can only hope he’s doing half as well in the classroom. *Offer the kid.* You have to assume he gets an offer as long as he takes care of business in the classroom. *Offer the kid.* If the offer comes Ringer is a Buckeye.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] Javon is off to a great start to the 2004 football season. He has over 1000 yds rushing in just 4 games. IMO he would be a great RB addition for the Buckeyes. Javon also appears willing to wait on tOSU and if he convinces tOSU that he is not an academic risk then he will get an offer and become a Buckeye.”

Walker Ashley

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Going by everything Ashley has stated publicly the Buckeyes look to be in pretty good shape. I tend to believe the whispers he may be heading somewhere else. A positive visit to Columbus could change things but right now my money is on USC.”

86- [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “He continues to state that tOSU is the leader and has his official visit set up for December. He has loyalty to tOSU for an early offer and seems to like Coach Tress. On the other hand, the internet rumors seem to indicate he is headed west. Petey Carroll was a coach for the Vikings when Walker’s dad played there. Walker also called his USC visit this spring as his best of the off-season (some think he committed on this trip). I think in the end he becomes a Trojan.”

Lawrence Wilson

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Although Wilson has stated Pitt made the final 3 I think everyone believes it’s down to Ohio State and Notre Dame. Trips to Notre Dame and Ohio State should give us the edge. Our program is in better shape and we’re closer. Wilson ends up a Buckeye.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] [bucks]*[/bucks] “It is between tOSU, ND and Pitt. All three have agreed to let him play BBall and FBall. Pitt is there because they were the first to offer and Lawrence is a loyal guy. My guess it is between ND and tOSU.. IMO, a game day visit and loyalty to his home state school will make Lawrence a Buckeye.”

Jonathan Stewart

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Grades must be the only thing keeping the Buckeyes from offering because Stewart is a beast. The kid has an unbelievable mix of speed, size and balance. Stewart seems like the kind of kid that would really hit it off with Coach Tressel. You wonder if Stewart will visit without an offer. Maybe the staff is set with Ringer and Wells?”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Jonathan is off to a great start to his football season and will soon become the Washington state HS all time rushing leader. Jonathan has been listing tOSU has one of his favorites but there is not a lot of evidence that tOSU is interested and pursuing him. Grades could be a factor?? He would be the big back that we are looking for. It just seems like such a long shot but if we could get a visit anything is possible.”

Mikell Simpson

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “I’ve never been excited about our chances with Simpson. Playing time is something that is very important to him and With Pittman, Haw and possibly Ringer and Wells on the way I don’t think he would like the depth chart here. I think it’s unlikely that Simpson ends up a Buckeye.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “He seems interested but is waiting for his written offer. He has the versatility that JT like with the ability to play RB, WR and DB. If we can get him on campus for a visit I think we have as good a shot as anyone on his favorite list.”

Travis Beckum

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] – “Until a big time Oak Creek player goes somewhere other than Miami I’ll always feel any big time prospect from there will end up a Cane. Luke Fickell did a great job with Rhyan Anderson and is doing a great job with Beckum. He would be a fantastic addition to this class. An official visit gives us a decent shot but I think he ends up at the U.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Probably the top player in Wisconsin. He could play OLB as well grow into a DE/LEO position. tOSU has made his top four and some of the recruiting guru’s think we have a good shot. But I think he heads to Miami if he gets an offer (along with Raymond Henderson-who also has an offer from the Canes).”

Melvin Alaeze

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “As long as we’re in Alaeze’s top 5 we have a chance but it doesn’t seem likely Melvin will end up a Buckeye. Another great job by Luke Fickell who is rapidly becoming one of our best recruiters.”

86 - - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “tOSU has made Melvin’s top 5. Coach Fickell is doing a great job recruiting him. If we get a visit we stand a chance but I don’t think it is likely.”

Curtis Smith, Freddie Lenix

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “It’s all about the grades for these two fine Glenville athletes. If they make it and get offers they will be Buckeyes. If not, Lenix could end up at Florida and Curtis Smith at Pitt. Lenix is such a playmaker you hope the Buckeyes get him and worry about where to play him(S or LB) later.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]
“It is not a sure thing that either will be offered. Lenix might be considered too much of a tweener. IMO the kid just makes plays and we should offer and he would accept if offered. Curtis is probably a longer shot to be offered because of our success at DE. We could probably rest right now with Williams and Worthington but there is also a good shot we get Wilson or could get an OOS’er like Beckum (who could end up at DE).
If tOSU waits too long both could make another choice. Because of the uncertainty of a tOSU offer I have lowered both to three buckeye leaves.”

Ed Collington

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] Collington recently visited for the Marshall game with Wesley Lyons. He’s had a strong senior year thus far and has good size. I’d say he’s unlikely to get an offer at this point with guys like Wells, Ringer and Stewart still out there but there is some interest from both sides.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Collington has been a bit of surprise this High School season, rushing for over 800 yds and scoring 13 TD’s in 4 games. He plays for a top team (Penn Hills-same school as A. Morelli). There is mutual interest between tOSU and the “The Horse” and Ed even visited tOSU for the Marshall game. He is a bit of a long shot but if he keeps putting up big rushing numbers he will be pretty hard to ignore.”

Kazeem Alli

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “With Irizarry gone and Hamby a Senior to be we could use a TE in this class. Having an ex-teammate in Columbus helps our cause and we’re closer to home than Georgia Tech, his current favorite. Not sure why but I think after an official visit here Alli ends up a Buckeye.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Kazeem plays at the same school as Nick Patterson. He has been in touch with the tOSU coaches and they made his top 5. But GTech currently leads.”

Stephen Gowland

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Stephen was unable to make a visit to Columbus this summer. I still think he badly wants an offer from an SEC school like Auburn or Georgia. For his sake I hope he gets it. If no SEC offer comes through and he makes an official here we could land him.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Stephen has been offered by tOSU and is clearly a priority at TE. But Stephen seems to have his heart set on a big time SEC school near his home in Georgia. If he gets an offer from Georgia, Florida or Auburn they could be the choice. Hopefully Stephen makes a game day visit.”

Brandon Long

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “If offered Long will be a Buckeye. If he doesn’t get one he probably ends up at scUM St. Long is a versatile athlete that could play tight end, fullback or even linebacker.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Brandon goes to school with the Hartline brothers and has made some visits with them to tOSU. His first choice would be the Buckeyes and there may be an outside chance for an offer if he is patient. My guess is he joins his ex-teammate Nick Smith at MSU.”

Brian Robiskie

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “It appears the coaches want to see what happens with Lymon and others before Robiskie gets an offer. He’s a big kid, he’s young and his father is a coach in the NFL so you have to believe he understands the game. Coach Tucker has been in contact and if he’s patient Brian may get an offer down the road.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]
“Brian has offers from Miami and PSU. He seems to be leaning to the Canes but if tOSU were to offer it could get interesting. tOSU is looking for a 3rd receiver and if Brian proves himself during the season he could earn an offer. My guess is he chooses the Canes.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “tOSU has made Melvin’s top 5.

Ed "Horse" Collington

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Brian has offers from Miami and PSU. He seems to be leaning to the Canes but if tOSU were to offer it could get interesting. tOSU is looking for a 3rd receiver and if Brian proves himself during the season he could earn an offer. My guess is he chooses the Canes.”

With two CB commits already and the need for a 3rd WR I think there is good chance that we don’t take a 3rd CB in this class. I would put the odds at 50/50 for Smalls becoming a Buckeye.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks] “Brian has offers from Miami and PSU. He seems to be leaning to the Canes but if tOSU were to offer it could get interesting. tOSU is looking for a 3rd receiver and if Brian proves himself during the season he could earn an offer. My guess is he chooses the Canes."

Curtis Smith , Freddie Lenix

Nutty – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “It’s all about the grades for these two fine Glenville athletes. If they make it and get offers they will be Buckeyes. If not, Lenix could end up at Florida and Curtis Smith at Pitt. Lenix is such a playmaker you hope the Buckeyes get him and worry about where to play him(S or LB) later.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks] “It is not a sure thing that either will be offered.

Glad to see ther are still some Buck fans that havent given up just yet......

For the most part buckeye fans are in pain today ...almost as much as the players and coaches themselves. It will be very interesting to see what happens both at practice and in front of the camera this week.

Eventhough we improved in some areas we were exposed in others and I know polls are not the only place we will be losing ground. I believe the coaches will have thier hands full with keeping confidence in the team. If the players knew everything that some fans are really saying......well I think that could really be the beginning of a new streak of losses. I would like to look at Iowa now. I dont know how they did yeaterday . And I would like to know the status of thier starting RB. ....GO BUCKS

Lydell Ross story :aparently Lydell was out ........

Senior tail-back Lydell ross just looking for some fun in the wrong place it seems. The top leading rusher was listed on a columbus police web site for an incident that happened late Saturday night at a columbus Gentlemmens club. According to the police report Ross may have tryed to pass some fake money at Pure platnium night club. Apparently it was only tokens that were used in this incident. It sounds like he was having a much better time than I was Saturday night, up until the arrest that is.

A Commander-in-Chief is supposed to lead the military, and make them want to follow.

A Commander-in-Chief is supposed to lead the military, and make them want to follow.

The military men and women are bound to their duties because they signed for it, but they NEED to feel like they want to follow the Commander, and NOT be forced, and pushed, and not just be expected to comply to simplistic orders. Yes, they are soldiers that are required and expected to follow orders, but not in the way a dog follows orders. They are human beings, and they are people’s children, and the nation’s hopes.

Again, a soldier should be made to want to follow, and not pushed to comply.

It is clear now that W. Bush went to war for the following reasons, in priority:

  • For Revenge. The attack to Iraq (really to Saddam) was for his family’s revenge on Saddam Hussein. People seem to have forgotten that Saddam humiliated the Bush family, and caused the whole country to call senior Bush “a coward”. I had never seen such shame among Republicans, and since then they were super silent with their head hidden away in the shadows.

Bush family laterally used the US population as sheep. They used the countries children as pawns for their own personal vengeance.

  • For Personal Gain and Money. By personal, I refer to his family, and friends and associated businesses. He figured, hey, since we are going to attack anyway, why not develop some plans to make money on the side or at the very least strengthen their asset values and holdings, and investments. If not theirs directly, then their friends who would pay them back in fold later, when things are cooler. The Sometimes, I think the American people are morons. We latterly are sheep, and truly got suckered like we have never been before, and by our own President. What makes it worse is that he is a stupid president, and yet he suckered enough of us for long enough to get what his family wanted. Maybe he was just able to use us while we were all angered, or scared to say anything even though we could see actions/reactions occurring were wrong. It is a sad time, and for the people not to be aware or see this makes it even sadder.
  • Country’s security. I think this one is borderline. I am not sure if I am convinced that the country is any safer or if the people of the country are any better off because Saddam Hussein is no longer in power. As far as the Iraqi people go, well I don’t have enough info on what their real lives was like before our invasion of Iraq (People do you realize that we invaded, as an aggressor, another country), but my gut feeling says that they are better off. At least they will be better off in the future, and this will most likely bring more peace to that region; we all hope, but I can guarantee peace will not be it if G.W. Bush has anything to do with it. He is blood thirsty and corrupted with power, and he is already talking about spilling more blood by attacking Iran. We are not even done with Iraq, and Afghanistan, and he wants to attack Iran. He has gone mad with power and thinks he can bully the world into his way of thinking or doing things. After writing this paragraph, I am thinking now that W. Bush is causing the increased risk to this country’s security.

Before 9/11 tragedy occurred, W. Bush was well aware that the attacks were going to occur, and that those attacks could be severe. Not only did he let it happen by looking the other way, which is now become fact, but was unknown to all except a small group that knew he was willing to let it happen, and wanted it to happen. He was willing to let it happen because he planned to take advantage of what ever happened for his family’s personal gain, which he did as it is obvious now. Obviously he could have concentrated all efforts towards Osama bin Laden and the country of Afghanistan, and made sure the N. Korean situation was kept under control. Some of you are say, “No! No American would ever let such a thing happen or would want such a thing to happen”. Though! This American called W. Bush did want it, and did purposely let it happen. You don’t like reality, then too bad, it’s occurred.

However, he was surprised and shocked at what happened on the 9/11 attacks. He did not expect it to be such a massive occurrence and such a large-scale tragedy. He thought he was using others, while he himself got used. He felt misled, used, and even more angry than before. Bas$@%#@….Out of respect for his title, I will refrain from using obscenities towards him. Ahhh! For his family’s personal vengeance, he used the people like sheep, and caused the death of more than thirty thousand or so, and I am sure it is much more than that. I feel that he deserves obscenities to be used towards him for the few thousand that died on the 9/11 attacks.

If you are an American (USA) citizen or resident reading this now, then answer the question: How do you feel about getting used like sheep for the benefit of Bush’s wrongful and sinful benefit? It does not matter if you are a Republican, Democrat, actor, doctor, CEO, VP, blue color worker, white color worker, news reporter, journalist, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, catholic, protestant, etc. It does not matter what kind of American you are, or what your position is in US society or in government. We were all sheep for W. Bush, and his family. Congratulations for helping them get their family’s personal revenge. We paid for it, and are still paying for it. If you are a mother just figuring out that your child died for their family’s personal revenge, then I am sorry, but that is the case, and it cannot be changed.

The truth is that W. Bush should be charged and tried for multiple counts of murder. However this is unlikely. Even those who would agree with this statement would not support it because of the negative impact to the country, and because of their own fear from the connections of the Bush family. I pray that my identity never gets linked with this letter because I also fear the Bush family and what may happen.

Here is what may sound awful to those who don’t care for Bush in any form. I know what he did (reference to attacking Iraq) was wrong, and possibly evil, and against all International laws, but I am glad he did it, and Saddam is out of the way. I don’t necessarily agree with every aspect of how he did it. Now that he has done our bad deeds for some who wanted it, now it is best to really have him out of there. Even though I am glad he attacked Iraq and got rid of Saddam, I absolutely am disgusted by the fact that he purposely let the attacks to US occur on 9/11. He ignored two other countries warnings, one of which was Israel. In fact, I suspect that Israel has been holding certain information in this area against the W. Bush administration as means for the Administration to allow them to do things they would normally not be allowed to do. Yes they are breaking a lot of laws there too as the UN knows. Yes, I think the W. Bush Administration is being held hostage by lethal information.

We are stuck with wanting to make the actions of the county’s military remembered as honorable, heroic, needed, or at the least avoiding anything that may bring some kind of disgrace or smudge the honorability of the military’s activity in Iraq and to Iraq. You ask yourself, is it right to ignore truths or mistakes and wrongful doings in an effort to preserve our own pride, honor, and/or respect? Almost all of us (US Americans) have either family or friends or some kind of tie to a military person, and we do not want their name or actions to be seen as bad or wrong in any way, and this includes me. At the same time, I got to say that I feel really sick in the gut when I think about what we are fooling ourselves about, and how we are putting on fake smiles.

It does not matter if you were or are for invading, attacking, or defending our selves to/from Iraq or to/from Afghanistan, or to/from Usama bin Laden cult.
It does not matter if you are still furious about 9/11.
It does not matter if you are Jewish and trying to make sure that Israel’s interests are protected through the USA.
It does not matter if you are a businessperson whose business gets impacted by any decision related to oil.

It does not matter if you are a Muslim and think the war was wrong against Iraq, or this is related to an attack to Muslims in any way.

It does not matter if you are from some Christian section that supports Bush because of what you thought were closest values to your own, or because you want someone who is anti-abortion (pro-life).

None of the above, and none of the many other ideas, and grouping of people and their interests matter in this case.

It does not matter if you think both senior Bush and W. Bush are cowards because you think both chose to take the easier and cowardly paths in actions.

What it comes down to is this.

Did you like having been used like you meant nothing?

Do you like being use like you still mean nothing?

Did you like being lied and taken advantage of?

Do you like being lied to still?

Did you like your values getting used to manipulate you?

How do you like the way your values are still getting used to manipulate your vote?

HOW DO YOU FEEL?

YOU LIKE BE LIED TO?

DO YOU?

If not, then do something.

So what do we do? What do we do?

I need your help with that question, because I don’t know.
I guess my answer is, “Anything”! Start by voting your disapproval.

The irony for me is that I use to call myself a Republican at one time.

In case you are thinking this is a trick by either the Democratic Party or Republican Party, then let me make it clear. NO; this letter has in no way been initiated or influenced by either of the Democratic or Republican Parties, or any group/association/entity associated with them.

My letter is not from the Democratic Part as an attack.

My letter is not a trick or bait for the Democrats by the Republicans.
When I die, and hopefully it will be of natural old age, I will have my identity released with this letter.

I ask again:

Did you like having been used like you meant nothing?

Do you like being use like you still mean nothing?

Did you like being lied and taken advantage of?

Do you like being lied to still?

Did you like your values getting used to manipulate you?

How do you like the way your values are still getting used to manipulate your vote?

HOW DO YOU FEEL?

YOU LIKE BE LIED TO?

DO YOU?

If not, then do something.

VOTE YOUR DISAPPROVAL. Vote for anyone else, but G. W. Bush.

What's up with ABC?

Did anyone else get more than just a little peeved with ABC for conducting the Barry Alvarez interview at the beginning of the second half? It seems like they could have done that during the halftime show.

Instead they come back to Gary and Brent talking directly to Barry during most of the Buckeye's first drive of the second half. Not only that, they had to hang Barry's picture off of the score on the screen, covering a quarter of our view.

OSU-Michigan research

Hello Buckeye Nation ...
I'm in the process of collecting stories, anectdotes, quotes -- you name it -- pertaining to the OSU-Michigan series. So, I'm sure I have come to the right place... I am really interested in the above from the 10-year-war from 1969-78, along with 1968.
While I am by no ways trying to compete against this terrific site, I'm hoping you can help me out. I have created a blog http://10yearwar.blogspot.com/ in which you can post your information and possibly create a dialogue about the greatest rivalry in all of sport.

Kirk Herbstreit post game comenents....

I just tuned in to watch highlights of the big game yesterday and of course the GAMEDAY cast was going over the games and plays of the day. There was Teddy running back that long punt return "WOW" they said as Ginn took charge toward the endzone again. The entire ESPN crew had nothing but good words to say about our team and Ginn. Kirk made a few rare kind words to say about the Buckeyes. He went on to say, Congratulations to Ohio State for a really well played game and to Jim Tressel who had great play-calling.

I Think it was great what Kirk said about JT. Kirk, who has gone 2-2 when picking the Buckeyes over the last four weeks has been a little more critical of the buckeyes than any of the of ESPN commentators, has been under fire lately by Andy Geiger and many Buckeyes fans for resent comments he has said about the university. I only wish Kirk would say these nice things before one of the games instead of after the games that they win, especially now that JT is 3-1 over those wolverines which is almost woody-like.

Hoops Breakdown, Creighton vs Mizzou

The following link is from Missouri.scout.com, (has the insiders look) anyway the link is a hoops scoop of the Missouri vs Creighton semifinal game in the Guardians Classic. It's a link that gives some information about Creighton and what the Mizzou Tigers should do to be able to win.

Well, it's after midnight and the now Miserable Tigers got themselves into a good old fashioned can of whoop-ass, so we know the outcome and that the information didn't help Missouri execute their game plan. I figured the contest to be closer but... In any event, I thought fellow Buckeye Hoops Fans might appreciate a little peak at our next opponent before we jump them in the Finals.

Go Bucks!

I just tested the link and it works, but I had to copy and paste it into the browser window.
