QB Antonio Henton (transfer to Ga. Southern and FT. Valley St.)

Is it just me or does an indefinite suspension seem a bit harsh here? It is a victomless crime, and he plead not guilty?

I think a 1-2 game suspension, would be sufficient.

I know Joe Pa would wait for the legal process to run its course, and trial would be delayed until mid January....not saying that is appropriate, but I don't think a lengthy suspension is justified, hopefully indefinite means it could be very short once more is known about situation.

henton had to have a public defender handle his arraignment today and his friends had to come down and post his bond because he couldn't get in touch with his family.

I won't post his version of the story on here, but it's comically sad. if the mods want to pm me about it, then decide if it should be posted, then fine. but, chances are, doing so would result in several pages that will need to be split off.

Lets hear it?

Doing something like this may not seem wrong to some but to me I think the bar should be set higher for a football player at Ohio State. Even if this seems harmless (which I don't think it is), it is a very easy way to slip into other things that will get him in more trouble. Hopefully he learns...

Comically sad as in "a comedy of errors/misunderstandings," or comically sad as in "how could somebody be this naive/stupid?"

FWIW, my vote is DON'T post. Anything that we need to know will come out through normal channels.

Right now, I'm feeling more pity for this kid than anger or disappointment. Let him keep some modicum of privacy and dignity by not having the intimate details of this affair posted on the web.

I'm sorry, but "hot prostitute" is the same as "undercover officer." So Antonio should have known better (if he's guilty of course).

But on the other hand, $20.00 for a hot chick is a better deal than taking a girl out on a date to a nice restaurant with boring conversation for an hour and a half. So I guess I understand.

 its like wasting money on drinks for a bar hoe. I would never marry or date a lady I met at a bar.

Henton should use his big ten ring at strip joints if he can't get laid from a college girls/men. lol I used a few when I was in college and never played football at OSU but, had free fun:biggrin: I used my friends rings. lol

Indefinite is what it is termed when the coaches have not had a chance to sit down with the young man and find out his side of the story, or, if they do not know whether there is a legal finding of guilty or not guilty.
Both things are true here.
Thus, I am unsurprised by the wording of the suspension.
Lastly, what JoePa does or does not do has no bearing, nor should it have any bearing on the disciplinary actions of the Ohio State Atheletic Department or Football Team.

step back from the ledge, people.

1) it's a misdemeanor. if you're caught dead to rights, plead no contest and take your fine. he plead not guilty.

2) i've known people to get caught in a solicitation sting that were COMPLETELY innocent. here's how it goes:

average joe walks down the street:
cop pretending to be hooker: hey baby. lookin' for a good time?
average joe (jokingly): oh yeah baby. how much?
cop pretending to be hooker: fifty dollar, make you holler.
average joe (still joking, digs in pocket): twenty dollars is all my momma will allow me to spend.
cop pretending to be hooker: twenty dollars then.
average joe: what do i get for twenty dollars?
cop pretending to be hooker: anything you want.
average joe (laughing): sounds good to me (pulls out a $20 bill)
cop pretending to be hooker: surprise, asshole. you're under arrest.

the average joe hasn't done anything wrong. all he was doing was having some fun, and now he's caught a bullshit case. hell, i've talked shit with a hooker before myself. that doesn't mean i was soliciting. now, if he pulled his car up to the curb, she got in, and they went around the corner to the alley we have a different story, but let's wait and see how this plays out.

(is it just me, but shouldn't they be busting the hookers, not the joes?)

I agree, I think it is a joke the way some coaches handle their team. I was just making a point of comparison i guess...the other end of the spectrum.

Don't you mean 'Johns'? And they obviously do that to discourage the activity from the other side of the transaction, because of the potential for embarrassment. This case will make a lot of guys think twice before looking to buy some tail.

"Indefinite" means that the suspension isn't set. I believe that Steve Bellisari had an "indefinite" suspension when he got his DUI. That ended up being basically a 2-game suspension. (He was re-instated for the Michigan game, though he was at the bottom of the depth chart.)
