QB CJ Stroud (All B1G, 2022 B1G QB of the Year, All-American, NFL OROY, Houston Texans)

No question. Especially in his first action with obvious room for improvement. He won’t ever be the runner Justin is, but once he develops his touch on short to intermediate throws, he’s gonna be a serious problem.
I’d like him to perfect the run and slide of an NFL Qb. Just be able to see when you’re getting a free first down and take it.

That's been something I've definitely noticed, there have been several occasions where CJ could have taken off and got the first down in critical moments, but he decided to throw instead. I think he wants to make it clear he is a pass first QB to his own chagrin. Running the ball when the seas have parted is much more in the bag then throwing it. Like my old coach said, there are 3 things that can go wrong when you throw it, only 1 if you run it. Typical propaganda that a coach who wants to run the wing-t offense says, but there's some truth to it in this situation. In any event, I'm nitpicking, CJ will figure it out and he's really been great so far. I hope his progression this season elevates the rest of the team.

Yeah in his defense most of those passes worked but there have been easy first downs via the rush if he takes it.

I really dont like that he never pulls and becomes a threat to run giving the Defense another key point to worry. If thats the case you have to have a rocket like Haskins in order to keep successful but his ball often is really wobbly coming out which I didnt see in his films at all before he got here. There has to be an injury that no one is privy to keeping him from running and affecting his throws.

The only shoulder injury that I can think of that isn't major that you can play through is bursitis. Not sure what else it would be.

I guess it can't be injured that much further if he's still playing, although I would think it would need more rest than what he's getting.
