QB Rob Schoenhoft (official thread)

It sucks to lose guys but I can't blame Robbie for leaving considering the circumstances. Henton had apparently passed him on the depth chart with Bauserman close behind and he probably wasn't going to see significant playing time at QB here. Going to Delaware will give him a real shot to be the starter and grow into the position over the next two years. Real game experience is vital to any player's growth. I hope he excells there.

I am sad to see Robbie go, as I am with any Buckeye. However, he should do well, he wasn't going to make a starting position at tOSU and everyone knew that. Henton was the next starter, and Boeckman was the current starter. I appreciate his desire to do more with his career and his life, I hope he does well, but he's gonna look ugly as hell in a winged helmet.

Best of luck Kid. We'll be following you with the hens, despite the hideous uniforms. It's gonna be a huge adjustment, going from tOSU athletic facilities to those of Delaware. BIG difference! I wish him well just the same.

Ohio State quarterback Robby Schoenhoft said Sunday he will transfer to Delaware. Schoenhoft lost out to Todd Boeckman before the start of last season and had been demoted to third-team behind Antonio Henton prior to the national title game.
Schoenhoft will have two years of eligibility.
"I like the offense here," Schoenhoft said from Deleware. "I believe I will get an opportunity to play at Delaware that I never got at Ohio State. No guarantees, but I think I have a great chance. I have no regrets about attending Ohio State. I feel I was given a fair chance, to an extent. Todd won the competition. And he was the best quarerback for Ohio State."

Well, one thing for sure, he is moving to a pass oriented team - and with all the remaining QBs on roster being Freshmen he figures to have an excellent chance to take the field for both years with the Blue Hens.

Bummer. It happens and I'm actually surprised it doesnt happen more often considering the athletes we recruit on an annual basis.

Good Luck Robbie. Hope you win a NC and get your shot at Sunday's. Keep working hard.

COLUMBUS - Former Ohio State No. 2 quarterback Rob Schoenhoft said tonight that he is transferring to the University of Delaware and will enroll in classes there on Feb. 11. Because he is moving to a Football Championship Subdivision school, Schoenhoft will be able to play immediately, and the redshirt sophomore will have two years of eligibility remaining.

"I love everybody at Ohio State," Schoenhoft said, "but I had to look out for what was best for me and I needed to go and play somewhere. I have no animosity toward any of the coaches. I understand everything that happened, and I bonded with them." Schoenhoft moved to scout team tight end during bowl preparation and would have entered spring practice as the No. 3 quarterback. He said, like his teammates considering the NFL, he pondered a move only after the national title game.
