The 49ers are officially my favorite NFL team.

Troy finished 11/23 - 129 1TD 1int. 3 carries for 6 yards, including the kneel down at the end for a loss of 1
Troy was not sharp. A lot of underneath crap behind the LOS (typical of the 9ers playcalling) and Troy was behind his receivers on virtually every throw over the middle, including the pick off Crabtree's hands and a throw that lead to Josh Morgan getting jacked up. Troy had another high-hard-one to Crabtree that, had it been lower and Crabtree caught it, would've put him six feet under.

Troy has a cannon and can make every throw. Any OSU fan knows this. He needs time. I've said it before, he just needs a team that will invest a year to let him fail and learn from it. Unfortunately, that's not the M.O. of the NFL. He could be the next Drew Brees, I don't know if he'll get that much time though.

Overall I thought he was underwhelming tonight. I know he's better than he played, and he won't face a softer more disinterested team than what he saw tonight. Arizona was garbage in all phases of the game.

Arizona started mailing it in weeks ago.

Troy wasn't on fire tonight, but against this Cardinals team, he didn't need to be. I truly hope the 9ers give him more time and invest in their offensive line. But you're right, the NFL doesn't work that way anymore.

Which really sucks. Guys like Alex Smith and David Carr get at least 5 years to improve, even if they're obviously garbage, because they came in with high expectations while Troy only gets 1 game at a time.

Honestly, I can't see them going back to Alex Smith unless Troy really starts playing awful. Alex Smith is a free agent after this season, and they know what they're going to get from him. It's also pretty clear that Troy has better leadership qualities. Singletary even said it himself. The team has responded to Troy very well, aside from the one game. They're 3-1 with him as the starter. He hasn't made the terrible mistakes that Alex Smith made, and he's even brought them back late in a game to win. I think this job is his until Singletary is gone, but I think he's shown enough to at least compete for the job next year. At this point, that's all he can ask for.

Even if he loses the job, he's shown enough potential that other teams would be interested. He's proven he's a backup at worst, so he'll have a place in the league until he's done.

Wonder what it would be like.. if he ever got more than 2 seconds in the pocket... the line is composed of matadors... the OLE move is their best...

Troy is under fire the moment the ball is snapped

They should go to the shotgun... and a rolling pocket...

Its good to see Troy doing well in the league.

The way his career has been going I see this situation happen to him. Singletary gets fired and the 49ers bring in Harbaugh. Harbaugh hold a grudge against Troy because of all the times Troy beat down Michigan. Harbaugh brings "his guy"(maybe Andrew Luck) in to play QB. Troy sits on the bench again.

Pretty much sums up the game.

The match up next week is a tough one. Green Bay is 10th in the NFL in Pass Defense.

Just watched it on the DVR. Not a great game but I disagree in the Crabtree interception sure he didn't lead him like he was supposed to but he practically hit him tin the helmet. That's on Crabtree.
I think Troy had a pretty good game but I also noticed that about half his passes needed to be more accurate and if he really wants to succeed at this level he is going to have to do better, and I hope he does.
