QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

Mcmullin went to a pro camp (can't remember which one, Eagles?) so I would assume Smith will still get his shot at the pro's even if he is a backup. There is always NFL Europe where he could get quality starting time and go to the pros. He is getting lots of reps in practice so his skills are no doubt improving at OSU every day. If Zwick lives up to his potential Smith gets lots of mop-up time. If Zwick struggles than Smith might overtake him (a big stuggle no doubt and getting less likely every day). If Zwick goes down than Smith's our number one guy. Of course, with a viable third sting QB Smith gets playing time as a wide receiver. He is in a bit of a numbers crunch but it certainly isn't fatal. I would stay at OSU. Good things come to good people.

Football at tOSU level is as close to NFL-caliber as you can get, within the NCAA rules, of course. And in the NFL every team needs a skilled back-up QB, because defenses are blitz-happy and QBs are going down every week -- to sprains, concussions, etc. More and more Division 1 college teams are adopting pro-style blitz packages, especially the most highly skilled and highly ranked teams.

So Troy should stay in shape and stay close to JT. His time will come, sooner or later, when Zwick gets dinged. He can play a lot in the next three years, in high profile, widely watched games. He can get his due at tOSU.

there was only 1 QB in the NFL who *every snap* for his team last year, that was Kitna.

Brett Favre has started every game for the past forever
Tom Brady
Trent Green
