Take that same player on a mid level Big 12 team and put him on Ohio State - there are pluses and minuses to that - He didn't play against a defense as good as Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, or Michigan. He didn't have an offensive line as good as Ohio State's. He didn't have Henderson as a safety valve. He didn't have Harrison whenever it was third and forever.

I think it's an interesting situation. I also think there will be one or two buckeye QBs hit the portal after the spring game. Gun slingers are in high demand in this new professional world.

It is an interesting intellectual exercise. If Howard stays at KSU and has a decent year, he's not getting invited to NY, but he's getting a combine invitation. If he comes here, takes over, and blows it out, he improves his draft stock, BUT if he does and can't beat out Brown, he'll have to work into the Senior Bowl and see where he can get on late. I don't think he can be one of the ones to leave at this point, starter or not.

And there are more coming after Noland and Sayin, good ones. Not that those guys would likely be pushing to start, either, but we're going to see a push from the back of the room moving Sayin and/or Noland forward. I don't think we're going to be in a McCord/Brown/Howard situation for much longer, at least I hope not.

Considering the thread topic, perhaps it should be noted that Will Howard threw for 270 yards and all 3 of K-State's touchdowns against Missouri last year. His effort would have been enough for the victory if the wildcat defense hadn't surrendered 13 fourth quarter points to the Tigers (3 of which came on a walk-off 61 yard field goal).

The o-line was shuffled around with a new center, right? And Lincoln spent the year running the scout team, so he wasn't learning the offense. How is it difficult to understand that they wouldn't play well?

Maybe he means he can’t understand that they WERE NOT prepared…..not that he doesn’t understand why.

At least that’s what shocked me.
