RB Antonio Pittman (Official Thread)

as far as pitt goes...i like him a lot but don't think he's on same level with peterson, hart, and mcfadden. he's not strong enough to be a power back and not fast enough to be a speed back in the league imho. i know guys can make it as tweeners but how high will someone draft a tweener? i thought chris perry was better coming out of um and he's a third down block/catch back at cincy (when he's not hurt, which is often).

can we be so unlucky as to lose ginn, gonzo, pitt, and barton after last year's db fiasco?

Mark May just said that Pittman was the single most underranked player this year (actually, it was the player who most deserves more love, or something like that)

Other things he said was Brady Quinn was the player who got too much love
Charlie Weis is the coach who can't win big games. He was pretty condescending about that too. Gotta give some respect to Mark May.
PC and JT as the best big game coaches.

The Associated Press reports Ohio State tailback Antonio Pittman has filed the forms to make himself available for the 2007 NFL Draft. Chris Wells is the obvious heir to Pittman's throne for the Buckeyes. Pittman doesn't have tremendous size but his deceptive power and long speed makes him all but certain to be a first-day selection. With good pre-draft workouts, Pittman has a good chance to make a run at Round One.
So ya, he is probably gone for sure.

NFL Draft: Anotonio Pittman

This was posted over on the another site: (The O-Zone)
Not sure of how valid this is so take it for what it is worth. Grad21, maybe you can verify. If this should go to rumor Mill so be it. Just trying to keep informed and pass it on.

Antonio Pittman declared per NFL DraftShowcase.com/ Underclassmen Tracker:

Pitt

With the class of RB's in next years draft and the fact Chris Wells is going to take more carries next year AP's draft stock may be at its highest right now. I would love for him to stay but he might fall for reasons beyond what he can help in next years draft.

Sloppy Pittman proves to be steady performer for Buckeyes
By JON SPENCER
For The Marion Star

COLUMBUS - Antonio Pittman makes a better teammate than roommate. Just ask him ... or Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith, who could probably tell some horror stories about their past living arrangement. "Troy was my roommate my freshman year," said Pittman, the Buckeyes' junior tailback. "He was a neat freak. I'm a junky guy. We used to always go at it about my mess. I'd try to deny it, but there wasn't anybody else there but us."

THE FORGOTTEN MAN
Buckeyes' Pittman happy with his low profile

ASSOCIATED PRESS

COLUMBUS - On the Ohio State athletics Web site, there is a compilation of everything coach Jim Tressel has been asked and has said during his weekly news conferences during the 2006 season.

The hundreds of questions range from the offbeat - Would you ever run for U.S. senator? - to mundane inquiries about long snappers, mediocre opponents and travel plans.

What's illuminating is that Tressel was asked far, far more questions about freshman tailback Chris Wells this season than about the starter at that position, All-Big Ten player Antonio Pittman.
