RB Bri'onte Dunn (dismissed from team)

Lol. Dunn has a ton more potential than Hyde. The only thing that makes losing Dunn easier to stomach is Derrick Green next year!

I should have made myself clear and said "IMO". I do think Hyde has more potential than Dunn.

As much as I love Derrick Green's tape and star potential, is Green someone Urban wants in his style of offense. Obviously, it's a little too early to come to conclusions or even make assumptions, but Urban will have all the say on the 2013 class.

If Green wants to be a Buckeye, I think he should pull the trigger now and team up with Grant to get all that Virginia talent on to Ohio State. If we land Caleb along with Green, then arguably the top Virginia prospect from the '11, '12, and '13 class will be Buckeyes. PIPELINE!

Shane Morris, 2013 commit. Looks like a stud, unfortunately.

They're not going to sit Gardner his senior year. Not to mention, Morris played one game this year against talent worthy of evaluating him and played horribly (4-17 28 yds., 2 INT's). He was actually outplayed by the freshman QB on Cass Tech.

With all due respect, pro-style QBs out of high school can be the most difficult to prognosticate. (See Brock Berlin, Mitch Mustain, Kyle Wright, Ben Olsen, Anthony Morelli - I would even argue that Jimmy Clausen never truly lived up to the hype)

Plus Morris will probably not start until Dunn's junior or senior year, so he really shouldn't factor into the decision.

Perhaps this is a discussion for another thread. Virginia is much more than
Richmond which is where Grant and Green are from. Do not be mistaken. Va Tech has a lock on most of Virginia and getting a couple of players out of Richmond does nothing to dent their stranglehold on the state. I'd rather get players from the Tidewater area or northern Virginia which are much more fertile recruiting grounds.

I'm not saying at all that Ohio State is going to start stealing VT's prospects. Can't argue that landing Grant, Caleb, Green, and possibly Allen would go a long way in getting other VA recruits to look a little harder at Ohio State.

Sorry I got away from Dunn...

It isn't fair to evaluate Shane Morris on that Cass Tech game. I watched the entire game via live stream. He has absolutely no talent around him, no time in the pocket and WR droped many passes. That said, he isnt college ready atm. He has a big time arm, but accuracy and footwork are two areas he needs to work on. If DG doesn't get a red shirt, 2014 will probably suck hard.

This may be my spoiled homerism talking, but I almost don't care if Dunn leaves at this point. I think he's a great back, but he seems to have been looking for a reason to go elsewhere for months. I suspect a quick comparison of the depth charts at tOSU and scUM is the main reason. I just want him to make it official and move on. Bring on Green, who IMO has better speed, as good power, and better upside.

The biggest reason I want Dunn, is because I don't want him at UM. If he goes there and scores one tuchdown against us, all this "I don't care if he comes here" attitude bites us in the butt. This is an OHIO 5* player. I don't care if we run Mike Leach's offense we need to get him.

Both the "we have to get him" and the "I didn't really want him anyway" camps both seem extremely silly to me. His potential is clear; his drawbacks are clear. His interest as well as his hesitation in switching North is obvious. His desire to stay home as well as his concerns with tOSU are obvious. All the cards are on the table. Brionte is going to make the decision that seems best for him. I wish him luck.
