A decent OL would only help. No Cardinals runningback has done halfway decent, even in his absence. Seems to be a line problem more than anything.

Stephens-Howlings put up 127 yards against a mediocre falcons rush D a few weeks ago...wells rushed 15 times for 22 yards against one of the worst rush D's in the jets...its for sure a O-line issue but there is no denying wells needs to get completely healthy this off season

Yeah, I was watching that game. Stephens-Howling did passably, he was ineffective for most of the game until he broke away on one really big play. It's tough for Beanie to build up steam when the OL is overwhelmed at the point of attack.

Arizona Cardinals' Beanie Wells expects to play elsewhere
By Bob McManaman azcentral sports Mon Dec 24, 2012

Cardinals running back Beanie Wells said Monday he fully expects to be playing for another team next season and said he will be using Sunday?s season finale against the 49ers to ?audition for a job somewhere else.?

?That?s my mindset,? Wells said, a day after he was benched following a fumble that was recovered and returned for a touchdown in Arizona?s 28-13 loss to the Bears. ?I?m just going to go out there and put my best foot forward for all the 31 other teams that?s watching.?

Asked to confirm if he felt his days were numbered with the Cardinals, Wells replied:

?Oh, without a doubt. It?s inevitable.?

Wells, the team?s first-round pick out of Ohio State in 2009, has had an injury-plagued career in his first four NFL seasons. He?s battled knee problems and spent much of this season on recallable injured reserve because of a knee problem and a turf toe injury.

?You never expect things to unfold the way they do but it?s a part of life and you have to roll with the punches and adjust to them as they come,? Wells said.

Wells said he?s seen a pattern since joining the Cardinals that tells him it?s probably for the best that he moves on. He is still under contract for next season, but sounded Monday as if he will either be released or traded at some point in the offseason.

He said he hasn?t had any ?hard discussions? with the Cardinals about his future, but added, ?This is a performance-based business and I don?t know if I?ve done things up to our organization?s standards here. Maybe it?s a discussion that we?ll have later on, but who knows??

Wells said he will be using the 49ers? game as added motivation.

?I plan to play this game for a long time. I love playing football,? he said.

Why can't players play to their full potential every game... not need an "audition" to be motivation. The Vikings are about to make the playoffs on the back of AP after coming back from a brutal injury... it's certainly not Christian Ponder that has led them. Without a doubt they have a better line, but still... give 100% every game.

I'd take Minnesota's run blocking over Arizona's any day of the week. They've had nearly a decade to tailor fit their offense to AP's great running ability, and it's clearly showing. Sure they've gone through a coaching change or two, but they still have Peterson on their sideline, and that's a damn good weapon to have.

I thought Beanie getting benched after that fumble was a joke. Players make mistakes and occasionally fumble or throw picks without getting benched for an entire game. With the horrible display of decision making on QBs, the suck that is the offensive game plan weekly in Arizona, and just the general poor coaching by Wisenhunt, I can't imagine him being back.

Beanie just needs to go out and play his best and see what comes in the offseason. I am sure his inability to stay healthy hasn't endeared him to the organization.

6 years is nearly a decade?
