RB Jaamal Berry (Transfer to Murray State)

Anyone have any more info as to why Jaamal only played one offensive snap?

He played a little more than one. He caught the pass & was the other RB in the backfield when Carlos busted his TD run. I can think of a few other plays he was in, but not included. I think the coaches are easing him back in, with him being limited, I'm sure his conditioning isn't up to snuff.

With that said though, I'm in the group that's wanting to see a more agile RB in the backfield and I can't wait until he or Jordan Hall returns.

By "red zone" I'm hoping you mean the red-colored end zone and not just inside the 20-yard line.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that during the game...[/QUOTE

Ha mil I said end zone not red zone. But just think out loud here, come game six when all five guys are back man that is going to be a great mix of guys to run all kinds of mixes of packages and formations. This team really has so much talent, once the bucks start getting back to full strength the offense should really start to pick up.

I only recalled the one where he caught the pass, my bad if he played a few more. He looked good on KR though, so health didn't look to be the issue. The only thing I could think of is maybe there's a special package in for the elusive/agile RBs and coaches didn't want to show Miami anything? Then again, you're in it to win it and the way the O was struggling it doesn't make sense for that to be the case.

They are being extra careful with his hamstring...

I hope so...I couldn't understand why he was on the sideline while we were trying to get Hyde on the perimeter on toss plays.

I couldn't understand why we were running 200 toss plays. But... yeah.

Ohio State backup tailback and kick returner Jaamal Berry was dealing today with what sources said was a health issue that might have been at the root of an on-campus incident Wednesday morning.

A physical altercation took place at Enarson Hall, according to an Ohio State police report, and it is believed that Berry was involved. But as of late afternoon, no charges had been filed.

Coach Luke Fickell said his concern was with the ?health well-being? of Berry and not with any legal issues. Fickell would not elaborate.

An athletic department spokesman said Berry was undergoing tests at the OSU Medical Center in an attempt to find out what might have triggered the incident.

?Nothing has been identified so far, but they are continuing to evaluate him,? the spokesman said. ?There are no legal issues.?

Berry?s status for the Big Ten opener Saturday against Michigan State was uncertain

Hope he is ok

Ohio State tailback Jaamal Berry was admitted and released from the OSU Medical Center Wednesday after what an OSU police report described as an "assault" on another student.
...
At about 10:25 a.m., two males were witnessed "wrestling on the ground" in the South Oval, according to the police report. The primary witness is a university employee who declined to comment, but said in the police report that Berry was muttering things such as "I don't know what is going on around me."
The report said Berry "appeared confused and disoriented and was unable to tell me his name."
The OSU police officer on the scene observed that Berry was "mentally unable to provide me with any of his emergency contact information," and Berry voluntarily went to the OSU emergency department.
