RB Maurice Clarett (B1G Freshman of the Year, National Champion)

Well, you could have made smart decisions and stayed at Ohio State, won the Heisman, and been a first round pick.
Well as of right now that doesn't mean shit to him. Nothing he can do about it and can never go back so all he can do is work to get drafted.

Three interesting things about this pick.

1. That offensive line should help him quite a bit.

2. That thin air is that last thing his oxygen deprived brain needs.

3. He is a perfect match for Big Money Gerard Warren.

Now that's what I call a gamble (and not of the Chris variety). I suppose they are looking for another Terrell Davis-like diamond in the rough. Of course, they could have a maggot in the rough too...I guess time will tell.

I've been telling everyone who would listen that he'd go earlier than expected. There are two things to know about the movers and shakers of the NFL: They are paranoid and arrogant. Paranoid that if they don't take an early chance on a guy like Clarett, thier rival will, and it will haunt them. Arrogant in that everyone thinks they are better equipped than others to deal with guys like Clarett. It's the same reason McGahee went in the first round a few years back, and the same reason Frank Gore got picked over several other healthier backs.
