RB Miyan “Chop” Williams (Official Thread)

A mother’s protective instinct drives her to put her son into football. That’s some “Turn left to go right” stuff right there.:banger:
The story I’d always heard about Miyan, was that he got into too many fights at school and she put him into football for discipline and protect him from getting into further trouble at school and in the neighborhood

In some neighborhoods the football fields are safer than the streets

I come from just such a neighborhood. There was one family in my neighborhood you may have heard of. The Griffins. They named the high school football field after them.

I would bet that if you asked Arch or any of the other Griffins about their old neighborhood they would say it was fine.
  • They lived in a better part of it than I did
  • Nobody messed with them
Though I somehow doubt that they failed to notice the gang violence at the junior high school we went to. The Griffins were never involved and neither was I, but it was on the local news and everyone in school was acutely aware of it.

Funny...

But when I was in junior high school, those of us who messed around with computers did so with punch cards and we made fun of the teachers who said that some day people would have computers in their homes. Microsoft was a term no one had ever heard.

RYAN DAY’S THURSDAY PRESS CONFERENCE

ON THE RUNNING BACK ROOM
  • "It's time to get those guys some reps and get them going."
  • Day said Ohio State will "rely on depth" against Indiana and try to use TreVeyon Henderson, Miyan Williams, Dallan Hayden and Chip Trayanum on Saturday to make sure each ball carrier is fresh and can get their feet underneath them. He added that Williams' hand is "a lot better this week" but said he struggled with it last weekend against Northwestern.
  • On Dallan Hayden and Chip Traynaum: “We’re gonna try to play some depth this week at running back.”

A bit frustrating….Miyan had no business even being game at that point. He was shaken up a few plays prior and came off field. Dallan takes field, and keep in mind score is 28-7, and they bring Miyan back and feed him twice coming off a play he had been banged up.

I dunno…..I def don’t wanna be “that guy” but I just feel like Day doesn’t have a great feel for some of those smaller details better game managers have.

Today you are insanely careful with Miyan based on RB depth and his importance going forward. It’s 28-7 and Indiana can barely move the ball…..just wish they handled his carries a bit more strategic.

Oh come on. 28-7 isn't the time to pull starters and you can't plan against massive humans landing on top of his ankle. This isn't Day's fault
