RB/WR/DB Demario McCall (Official Thread)

Yeah, that's how I always viewed him. And why I'd still love to see 2 true RB's taken this recruiting cycle. Becuase if he's a hybrid then the stable is pretty bare for true RB's. Not that he can't take hand off's at 200 lbs but the real power of the position is when lined up with a power back, etc. as needed. Hard for a defense to scheme for that.
yeah, it's certainly not earth-shattering that mccall was expected all along to be a samuel-type player, but at least meyer appears to be confirming it.

in regards to having a set of "conventional" backs, the need for size will especially be the case if barrett departs and burrow takes over next season. even haskins is more of a pro-style quarterback. samuel's abilities are exploited with a smart, mobile quarterback who's proficient with the read-option, which is not to say, however, that mccall wouldn't shine with a traditional quarterback taking snaps.

Urban says he's about 185 right now and he wants him to get up to 200.

2 things: curious/ excited to see how he plays after a year with Marotti and if he's 185 right now I'll [Mark May] in my hat
DMC has to be like 5% body fat so I bet that 185 number is accurate. No doubt he will get to 195-200 and once he does my God will he be dangerous.

Guys with his shake and bake don't come around often. Steve Slaton/Reggie Bush type of style though for sure
