That exact phrase came to mind for me, as well.
Unfortunatly great minds think alike.
Encarnacion looked pretty bad at the plate. He looked overmatched against Zambrano, but Zambrano is tough. Hopefully he can bounce back tomorrow. Also, Womack played very well today.
Same shit, different year.
THe only way we score is by a homerun, we still can't pitch and can't play defense. I thought they were suppossed to be working on defense in the off-season. 2 errors and a couple misplayed fly balls.:!
3 innings in a row where we had baseloaded and the third we had a guy on 3rd with no outs. We score 2 freakin' runs.
It is going to be a long season.
We scored 7 fucking runs. It ain't the offense little Marty.
Pitching still sucks, defense still sucks and now we have 2 has beens like Woe-mack and Hatteberg starting for us with Rich Aurillia waiting to get his AB's.
It is indeed going to be a long year.
Well I didnt say it was only the offense, but we didnt have the timely hitting when we needed it to get back in the game.
Also the Cubs walked 8 reds batters and we only scored 7 runs. Unfreakin' believable if you ask me.
New GM Wayne Krivsky came in and acted decisively, trading Sean Casey so he could clear his outfield logjam by moving Adam Dunn to first base. He liked decisiveness so much, he traded Wily Mo Pena to Boston so he could move Dunn back to the outfield and free up a spot for Scott Hatteberg, last seen decomposing in Oakland. Worse, in Bronson Arroyo he added another flyball pitcher to a staff that's going to lead the league in sore necks. Plus he's let Tony Womack linger around the roster within reach of Ryan Freel's starting job. That's not just decisive, that's decisively stupid.
Umm.....didn't O'Brien trade Casey?
Looks like another pitchers duel today.
