Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

You, I haven't seen talking like this as much, but take a look around at the board, man. When you treat the word Michigan as a swear word, it's hard to be objective at the same time.

Dude, seriously, go Michigan yourself!

Everyone is going to criticize everything Rodriguez does until next year starts. I understand he's your head coach but what reason, at this point, do you have to defend him? Some of the stuff he's done is questionable, taking recruits from his old school? I realize he's the master of his system but that's rubbing salt into the wound.

As for the players that left, that's to be expected, let's face it, people are recruited by a certain coach, they have no obligation to stay for a different one.

I live across the river from Parkersburg Wva.A good frind of mine was at the PHS football banquet when it was announced that RR was going to Michigan. He told me that JJ also knew that RR was leaving WVU before it was annonced to the public.

The timing issues in general don't bother me so much as the fact that Rodriguez apparently used West Virginia's one call that week to steer recruits away from West Virginia. In doing so, he was not only acting against the interests of the entity he was representing, but also preventing them from having the opportunity to mitigate the damage by contacting their own recruits immediately.

If WV claims the phone call damaged their position with recruits, it would be very interesting to see how that damage is quantified. I don't think we'll actually see it quantified, but it would be interesting to know what dollar value a school would assign to a recruiting call.

Fielding Yost, Bernie Oosterbaan, Bump Elliott and Bo Schembechler are spinning in their graves. Great coach or not, this guy has no personal integrity whatsoever. I'm wondering if there aren't a lot of Blue backers shaking their heads.

Thats what I've been saying from the day they made the announcement. They might as well have hired Dennis Erickson away from ASU, at least he's actually won something.

The #1 recruit in the nation, potentially a program changer... with white out the door in a year? Incredible value.

Interesting pontification, indeed.
