Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

I sincerely hope posting this screenie isn't a violation of BP rules. Apologies (and kudos) to sandgk -- we were both right.

Rivals$--Stanko talks ND camp

Anthony enjoyed ND's camp and South Bend. He comments about South Bend's small town atmosphere and says he is hearing the most from Notre Dame, Penn State and Ohio State.

and I just wanted to congratulate Rodriguez on not even going after what is clearly one of the top offensive line prospects in the Midwest, keep up the good work you fucking moron, I'm sure there are plenty of 3 stars down in Florida that are better for your system anyways

This is there current list of commits...
*** #35 QB
*** #82 DE (probably ends up at C)
*** #53 DL
**** #12 DE
*** #51 WR
*** #35 CB
*** #42 CB

Not a single one held an OSU offer.

These are the kids they seem to be in decent enough position to land...

**** #26 RB Dee Hart (gonna have to hold off 'bama, though)
*** #86 RB Thomas Rawls (still waiting offer...how is that possible?)
** NR WR Prince Holloway
**** #27 WR A.J. Jordan (OH kid, no tOSU offer)
**** #24 OT Jake Fisher (MI kid that they're battling msu for)
*** #75 OT Tony Posada (FL kid w/no offers from the Big 3)
*** #86 OT Ray Ball (another Ohio kid sans tOSU offer)
**** #7 OG Anthony Zettel (not the lock the beav once claimed)
*** #27 OG Chris Bryant
*** #21 OLB Kris Frost
*** #39 OLB Ed Davis (uphill battle)
**** #11 MLB Kellen Jones
*** #100 DE Damon Knox (MI kid, waiting for offer)
*** #46 DT Delvon Simmons (supposedly top-3 w/wvu and uva)
*** #46 DE James Adeyanju (might have to overcome Northwestern)
**** #25 S Avery Walls (GA kid)

So, from what all I've read, those are the commits and the kids they seem to feel they have the best shots with. Let me tell ya, even if they land the best of those kids, that is a Big East class. They currently have one commit ranked in the Top-20 of their position and are only appear to be in on two others. Also, any of those names look particularly familiar? Probably not, because none of them seem to be on tOSU's radar. Remember when tOSU and scUM used to go head to head for multiple recruits? That was one of the things that made this rivalry great. Well, the backwoods hillbilly in charge up there has changed all that.

Can you think of anyone who we could have hired that didn't have question marks? I see a lot of naysaying, but, well, you guys are OSU fans and I can't exactly see you guys inclined to line up and praise Bill Martin for a job well done. Goes with the territory.

Well, you could have done some planning ahead of time, It's not like VILloyd didn't tip his hand more than once.

BUT

Failing that, you could have acted like you were Michigan and not North Southern Central State. Take your time, wait till the bowls are over because you've got the most wins in the history of the game, great facilities, a 105,000 seat stadium, a solid fan base, a terrific fight song, the most recognizable uniform in all of college football and one off recruiting season isn't gonna hurt so that you get a coach that fits. And you know, with all of those tangibles going for you you probably don't lose that many recruits in your search year.

if his time at tulane, clemson, or wvu are any indication you will not see him recruiting prototypical nfl style o linemen.

system offensive linemen is such a load of bull, if you are good enough for the NFL you are good enough to block in any system a college coach can dream up period

recruiting smaller more agile guys to "fit the system" is just an excuse for programs that can't haul in elite lineman

this is yet another example of how remarkably stupid Rodriguez is highlighted by his absolute inability to realize that he is not in West Virginia anymore and he can go after elite talent at Michigan... well, he could go after elite talent, maybe not so much anymore
