S/LB Tyler Moeller (official thread)

The comparrison to Cei Grant is perfect to describe Tyler...and I think if OSU sells that role to him, they have an excellent chance....Tyler loves to hit QB's...in a freshman game he once knocked out FOUR Sycamore QB's and the fifth QB refused to go into the game....true story, btw.

Went to a Reds game with my buddy and his son in April. Tyler and my buddy's son are good friends....and I can report that having heard Tyler attempt to sing 'Take me out to the ball game' that Cei Grant's 'Carmen Ohio' is safe....very safe.

from all accounts seems like Tyler is a great person as well as a fantastic football player.

I am, however, a bit surprised he was offered -- only because of his size, because the kid can obviosly get it done,

OSU linebackers, are typically huge ( with a few exceptions).

The Bucks already have Lenix in the fold as a potentially undersized OLB, it seems like Tyler could be A tweener too?

The other side of the coin is, you always need guys like Thomas Matthews, who work hard, do whatever the team needs, provide great leadership and want to be buckeyes,

So I take that back, I'm not surprised.....

We're all hoping that Lenix gets in, but the kid still has to prove that this will happen. There has been some spinning from both sides, but Lenix could have had better grades (that's why he wasn't offered earlier). Therefore, along that line of thinking, its very possible that they could be looking for another lenix in case he doesn't make it back.

However, I think they are offering this kid because he's a ballhawk that makes things happen. He could be an excellent Cie Grant type for us. And at a smaller size, he'd be more likely to redshirt, separating himself from Lenix.

Come on down Tyler, we're waiting for you.

On a sidenote, one of OSU's earlier OLB targets, Gbadyu, just verballed to LSU. They were similar types of players from what I've read.

Lenix will get in...

Tyler Moeller would be getting major attention if he did not play on a team of superstars. His frame will allow for massive growth...by the time he hits the field, he will be 225-235.

I want this kid to be a Buckeye!

Hopefully he can get his weight up. I heard Colerain has one of the best strength and conditioning programs in Ohio. I don't know if its true, but I was told they had 10 kids benching 400-plus pounds last year. If that's the case, Colerain kids seem to be almost college ready as soon as they step foot on campus.

im recently knew to this whole recruiting thing and i may be wrong, but the starting lb weights this year are, 245, 255, 240, and i dont see many recruits topping off around that, is that a concern?

Our strength and conditioning program will get a kid like Tyler up around 240 with no problem...

For reference, some of the rising seniors when they came to tOSU and their current weight:

AJ Hawk 235--240

Jay Richardson 245--270

Tim Shafer 245--290

Joel Penton 235--275

Bobby C 235--255

Nate Salley 185--215

The S&C program will put on what is needed....
