Sam "L" McGuffie (Olympic Bobsled Team)

When I was at Cy-Fair, Michigan signed our best player, RB Ryan Beard. Beard owned the state record for rushing yards in a game. I think he got injured and ended up running track at Baylor.

Therefore, McGuffie should not go to Michigan.

My apologies if this has already been posted...but y'all have got to see this youtube highlight tape. That thud is your jaw dropping!

Kid is impressive, but that OL got more of my attention....those guys are sealing off some magnificent holes.

Sam is clearly quick and has some serious shake and bake..but that line is unreal for HS play. Watch them pull and shift...it is a damn clinic

I was impressed by that high school line also! Maybe the best I've ever seen! And that is the big school class in Texas I believe.

Yea.. as UF said... if u listen to anybody who has some "inside" info on this kid, they all reiterate that he's set on playing RB... He may say otherwise, but he wants to be the main back somewhere

With Chris Wells here for at least two more seasons, Brandon Saine (6'1", 210, 4.34) coming in this season, and Devoe Torrence (6'2", 215, 4.4) in the same recruiting class as McGuffie, I think we're set with top-notch RBs for the next four years...and that's not including the smaller Danny Herron coming in this season. If McGuffie is truly set on playing RB, he may be better off looking elsewhere...

Is Sam ideal size for a feature-back at a top-tier program? I wonder if he can avoid the possible dual back system involving a back with more size. He would be a great change-of-pace RB or slot WR. It may not matter to Sam, but it's something to consider. I would sure love it if he thought OSU was the place. I think DeVoe would agree that we could use him if that's all it was.

I seriously hope we recruit him.. he can make this program better the day he signs... Devoe wants to be the feature back, well he probably will be, but I can definitely liken him to LenDale White with a little Reggie making ays.
I think that Devoe obviously has more athleticism then the oversized LenDale and Sam is more than obviously less athletic than the once in a generation athlete, Reggie Bush. But with that being said, it isn't all that far fetched to consider Devoe being the power back with Sam being the game changer every Saturday.

It is possible to have more than 3-4 RB's on the roster at any given time and maybe if we did, we wouldn't have to play 3 walkon for the Spring Game.

Uh, we had only two scholarship RBs prior to the spring game and one was hurt, thus only one playing for the spring game. Now with the "Wells brothers" returning, along with Saine and Herron coming in this season, we have four schollie RBs for 2007, and unless Mo Wells goes pro after this season we'll have five (the aforementioned plus Devoe Torrence) for 2008. We aren't anywhere close to hurting for scholarship running backs....
