San Francisco 49ers (official thread)

+1 to all of this - and I also think there's no way he would be doing this if he was still a starting QB.
Exactly. He's likely more bothered by not being a starter than anything. By all means, sit or stand facing the other way if he wants to...its his choice. But if he were about to run out and start the game, I'd bet his actions would be different. He's average as a QB so really this should be a forgotten story soon.

Personally, the only time he should be doing it is if he's the starting QB. If he "should' be doing it at all, and personally, I don't really care that much... This isn't exactly Ali, Jim Brown, Kareem etc... he's one roster move from being "that guy over there" -- and "that guy" usually doesn't get a lot leeway to cause distractions.

"Yes, I'll continue to sit," Kaepernick said. "I'm going to continue to stand with the people that are being oppressed. To me this is something that has to change. When there's significant change and I feel like that flag represents what it's supposed to represent, this country is representing people the way that it's supposed to, I'll stand.

He reminds me of Terry Conklin from the Great White Hype.

Just a fucking dumbass parroting things he's heard or read from others.

I'd like to get a chance to ask him what change he considers significant. Or what the flag is "supposed" to represent.

I'm guessing those answers would be comedy gold.

Collin Sackorpick picked a great time to choose sitting the bench when it was already inevitable. But honestly, who gives a shit? People do objectionable things that are offensive to our patriotism all the time, it's what gets attention for a protest. I'm not losing any sleep over it.

And as far as his qualities as a NFL starting QB.
In case no one else has noticed, the NFL QB position as a whole is lacking quality starters.
Part of that is because of what is going on in college football at the QB position. With college offenses running the spread.
