Scenarios for Final 2022 CFP Rankings

Currently Utah is 11 and Washington is 12. I don't think it is likely that Ohio State will play Utah in the Roses Bowl. If Utah wins the PAC-12 CCG then USC falls out of the top 4 and Ohio State at 5 would probably bump in the CFPs. If USC wins the PAC-12 CCG then the loss would drop Utah below Washington in the ratings and Washington then would be the highest rated non CCP team and be selected to play in the Rose Bowl vs Ohio State.
From what I'm seeing, OSU has told the Rose Bowl to take PSU because they prefer the Orange Bowl vs Clemson.

Most of us would want nothing to do with either of them at this point and prefer to see Clemson. Handing Dabo another loss would feel quite a bit better than another Washington/Utah matchup. Dabo is owed at least one more big thumping from Ohio State.

Paying Clemson would be especially better than another Washington rematch because Pinnix would shred this defense in ways Buckeye Nation just isn't ready to see happen after what we just wen t through on Saturday. UW is a terrible match up for OSU.

OSU is also a terrible matchup for UW though, UW is 90th in pass defense. Their run D is just "ok". It would probably be a entertaining game of non defense.

with our first time starting QB and god only knows how many others sitting out? Not so sure OSU can keep pace in a shootout if it's a whogivesafuck.com Bowl.

Doesn't really matter though.

The whole thing is a joke. Does anyone think TCU would go 2-0 versus TTUN and Ohio State? They're undefeated because they didn't play either of them.

Um, wasn't Corum out the majority of The Game?

He was but Ohio State deciding to continue to play cover 0 and allow scUM WR/TEs to constantly be wide open down the field was the main contributor to scUMs offensive success.

McCarthy and crew aren't going to have that same "success" against a actual defense that makes McCarthy make throws into actual coverage. Not that Purdue's D is great or anything, but theyll likely show more resistance than we did. Sadly.

He was. The possibility exists however that a competent coaching staff could effectively game plan to make life very difficult for a one handed tsun team. Maybe even beat them.

Heady stuff I know but I hear there have been times in football history where one dimensional teams have lost when they have had that dimension taken away.

McCarthy was still only 12/24 passing in the game. He made a handful of throws that ANY QB should to wide open WRs against a poorly planned out defense, that was the difference. But the majority of D1 QBs make those throws, nothing special. He didnt fuck up I guess give him credit for that, but nothing special. Let's not pretend he played some out of his mind great game though and is now suddenly on track for a Heisman in 2023.

scUM would be supremely screwed if Edwards were to become unavailable.

Those other RBs just aren't good. We saw that against Illinois. Purdue's offense is more capable of making them pay than Illinois as well.
