Top running back in the state next year?

Maybe not the Top one, but definately one of them. I've seen this kid on film, and during a scrimmage. Good Vision, nice cuts, good quicks. Seemed a little smallish, but then so was Barry Sanders

5'10 185 is hardly small for a highschool sophomore runningback. I doubt Pittman weighed that much at that point.

Regardless, 50 carries for 688 yards is VERY good production and he has the track measurables and highlight reel from soph. season to back up the production.

Hubbard run continues with victory over Liberty

Liberty just never got on track in the contest and was led by junior running back Fitzgerald Toussaint, who rushed for 94 yards and scored twice on runs of 20 and 54 yards.

Toussaint returned the ensuing kickoff out to the Eagles 45-yard line, and from there the Leopards kept it on the ground with Ira Cross and Machamer getting it down to the 20, where Toussaint took a handoff and broke loose for the Leopards’ first touchdown.

Toussaint pulled the Leopards back in the game with his 54-yard touchdown run, where he zig-zagged all over the field before breaking loose.

My take: Speed, speed, and more speed. In pads I think his game speed is comparable to Flash Thomas and he is likely the fastest guy in the state for the '09 class. Picks his feet up well in traffic, great lateral accelaration, and great burst into the hole. He sure can juke but the freeze step is probably going to have to go because the defenders are going to catch up on the next level. Competition is certainly questionable. He is an option at RB but I think he is more of a utility guy at the next level, at slot and as an APB ala Flash. It's early to tell but since we have a lot of room in the next class I would like to see us take Toussaint. He is a big play threat on offense and a heck of a return specialist. JT and Co. love speed and Toussaint's got it. He may have to earn his offer at camp but I see him getting one eventually.

He had very good vision and had the arms, balance and quicks to be able to pick up yards in traffic. I disagree with RB in that he is only a role player at the next level.

We all know that small backs can be very successful at the college level, especially if they have the vision, balance and cutting ability to fit into a good scheme. Don't let mo wells make you biased in that small backs cant work at OSU.

Furthermore, if we're going to be running a spread attack, or a spread option at OSU with Pryor, Toissant would be the perfect compliment to that type of offense.

My other case for him would be that guys who have his speed and hips can play a variety of positions. He could be a corner, slot receiver, runningback, punt returner... etc. just get him on the field.

I don't necessarily agree with that statement. If Pryor were to run the same offense Troy did here, I think a power back is more effective. Someone who can get the tough 3,4 yards when necessary. Then again, I guess it's all a matter of opinion.
