SG Daequan Cook (Ironi Hai Motors Nes-Ziona - Israel)

I hope this was a confidence rebuilder! The game wasn't telecast here but it sounded like he was having a much better game and started to find the range in his shooting a bit more. Was that true?

Not really. He played a decent game but he has played better games this year. He hit a couple of shots but was not the Cook that we are all anticipating.

That was the best game he's played in nearly a month. He scored 9 points, shot nearly 50%, and grabbed 4 boards, all in 17 minutes. On 2/21, he shot 40%, 12 points, and had 6 boards, but that was in 32 minutes. The last time Daequan played this well was 2/14 against Penn State.

I'm with Steve on this one, Daequan had a much better game and it should help improve his confidence.

I didn't get to watch but from all I've read and heard Cook had a good game and it is about time. We need him to be hot. He can be a great force on the court.

Cook struggled shooting the ball once again today......its obvious he has tired legs.....his shot is flat, with that said, he once again does a great job on the boards.

You're right his shot is flat. I'm still going to give him the green light though because I think this is a problem he can work out after draining a few buckets.

Yeah, one of the announcers even mentioned that his shot has changed and he's launching line drives at the basket. This guy could be such a great weapon off the bench. Hope he puts it together really fast. Like NCAA tournament fast.

I still think he has hit the imaginary wall that some freshmen hit during a long, grinding season......tired legs.
As previously stated, this is what I believe too. That and I now think he is pressing his shot because of it. I think he did well yesterday because he had a week to rest and not as well today because he didn't have a chance to rest up. i am curious as to how well he does tomorrow.
He just needs some PT and he will be fine

I think you're thinking of an NBA rookie to be honest. I played DI college ball and it's actually no more demanding during the season than HS ball. They had a week off between Wiscy and scUM and another week off before the B10 tourney. He's logged half the minutes of guys like Durant, Wright, Conley, Oden, etc. They are all hitting their stride right now. He has excelled against the lesser talented teams, but has struggled against the more talented. He's just got alot to work on, and there's nothing wrong with that if you're a college freshman.

If you think Dayton Dunbar high school ball is as demanding as tOSU then you are crazy...

Cook never played D in high school and he has even admitted to it...Now he is having to to play on both ends which therefore makes it way more demanding...

I agree with Junkie that he has tired legs, and it is causing his shot to be flat...

Simply put.....Cook cannot just simply jump over everyone at this level to get his shot off and it is obvious he has not adjusted to this late in the season.....he has a nagging calf injury and just my opinion but he looks to be struggling with the intensity of the defensive pressure and what I still think are tired legs.

Correct. He is a freshman who needs to learn how to play the game at this level. Nothing wrong with that at all.
