Shaq's contribution to the NBA was, for lack of better terms, huge... an all-timer of a center and a great personality... if TNT lands him on its halftime show with Kenny, Charles, Ernie and C. Webb, I may never miss another NBA game

Just a reminder for perspective and for the young pups out there... Shaq was in the same draft as Laetner, Mourning and Jim Jackson...

One of my favorite players to watch growing up. Funny guy, who was dominating on the court in his prime. I don't blame him for trying to continue his career. I'm honored to admit he played a season with the Cavs, although he was passed his prime by then.

Does anyone else feel that the Center position is a dying art in the NBA much like the FB is a dying position in football?

Holy shit.

Greatest character in NBA history.

Just imagine if the refs had actually called all of the fouls committed against him, how many dozens more points he'd have had.

I remember watching him in college. There aren't a lot of 18-19 year old kids you can watch and say "that's a future hall of famer"...but there was never any doubt with Shaq. One of the 3-4 greatest centers of all time.
