SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

Hoke > Harbaugh. Prove me wrong

I can't prove you wrong, but on the whole... in my imo... I think Harbaugh is the better coach over a full season.

But for whatever reason, he doesn't get up for the rivalry. Which is hard to explain given his past in the rivalry... but it just seems like Hoke "got it" a lot more. Hearing stories from Shea that they prepared like it was any other week, etc. Somehow Harbaugh = Cooper.

Second problem is that, unlike Cooper, a potato is a better recruiter than Harbaugh.

Mark the date and time but I am going to say something nice about John F Cooper;

1) He did at least win The Game twice. Asperger Man is 0-fer
2) He never had 62 hung on him.

Cooper > Harbaugh.

Convince me otherwise.

1) Cooper brought talent to tOSU that Hairball could only dream off. He was just a horrible X's and O's coach and couldn't pull it together when it mattered most.
2) JT wouldn't have won a championship without Cooper's recruits.

Convince me otherwise

Agree 100% with your assessment. Here's some more evidence:

John Cooper: 4 major conference championships (3 Big Ten, 1 Pac Ten)
Jim Harbaugh 0 major conference championships

John Cooper: 3 top-5 finishes
Jim Harbaugh: 1 top-5 finish

John Cooper: 3 major bowl victories (2 Rose, 1 Sugar; 3-1 overall)
Jim Harbaugh: 1 major bowl victory (Orange; 1-1 overall)

John Cooper: .717 winning percentage as coach of Power5 team
Jim Harbaugh: .663 winning percentage as coach of Power5 team

John Cooper: Upgraded Ohio State's recruiting; began recruiting blue chippers nationally
Jim Harbaugh: Obsessed with 3-star "system" prospects; recruits mechanics from Germany

John Cooper: Modernized Ohio State's offense from 3 yards and a cloud of dust; Eddie George; Terry Glenn; David Boston
Jim Harbaugh: Plays 1972-era Manball; has 13 fullbacks and tight ends on his roster

John Cooper: Never lost a Super Bowl
Jim Harbaugh: Never won a Super Bowl

First B1G championship game was played in 2011.

Number of appearances BY TEAM:

Bucky - 5 Championship appearances, 2 wins, 3 losses.
Buckeyes - 4 Championship appearances, 2 wins, one loss.
Sparty - 3 appearances, 2 wins, one loss.
Pedsters - 1 appearance, 1 win.
Hawkeyes - 1 appearance.
My beloved Corn - 1 appearance.
Nerds - 1 appearance.

At this point, Tim Brewster, Dhani Jones, Julie Alexandria, Erin Andrews, Molly McGrath, Jenny Taft, and Shannon Spake all have more trips to Indy than Hairball does.

P.S. - Dhani Jones went to TSUN, so I guess he's the lone exception...

To add to this point; What you saw Saturday is a repeat of where they were at the end of the Carr era.

Their defense is built to stop their own offense.

It isn't built to stop modern offenses that make LB's and S do more than just fly up and stop the run.

Jim Tressel saw this in 2004 and torched their consistently overrated defenses until Carr left. Looks like Urban has recognized the same thing.
