SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

Why are they pissed off at the AD and School President?

Because Harbaugh has a 2 year contract (now 1) and his buyout is $3M.

I know Michigan fans are crazy/entitled and masters of douchebaggery, but some of the blame definitely does fall on Warde Manuel here. That contract practically screams "I'm out as soon as the NFL comes calling" and if we didn't want to be here right now, it would have behooved the AD to negotiate better terms.

More or less I think the sh*t has hit the fan, the fans are very concerned Harbaugh is leaving, and we all kinda hated Warde anyway. Entirely predictable.

Edit: I'm being told he has a 5 year contract, but since that contract pays him less than Tuck/Franklin, and the buyout starts at 3M and goes DOWN every year, I still think all of this applies. Manuel either rolled the dice to save a few bucks, or he took a coach back who insisted on having such an easy out for the NFL. There's no way the AD doesn't bear some of the blame here.

Denver sports journalism is unbelievably myopic and crazy, probably because we are so far from any other population center which results in an echo chamber. They want Harbaugh bad, like sign him now to a huge contract without an interview. Of course these were the same folks claiming that Nathaniel Hackett was going to win multiple super bowls, and as it turned out he came up just a little short. For selfish entertainment reasons, I want Jimbo here stat.

Simple Jim has another successful season and immediately puts the fanbase through what he absolutely promised them that he'd never do again.

If OSU had fielded a more Buckeye-typical defense against JJ and shut him down more like Henne, would anybody besides his brother be interested in Harbaugh coaching on their staff now? Hmm,..
I thought he was headed to the Denver Broncos or Indy Colts
Evil SPorts Network was reporting yesterday that he had a "conversation" with the Panthers owner.

According to some fine mental gymnastics, he's breaking no promises!!

He always had the "itch" to go back to the NFL but this time a team needs to come to HIM with a well thought out legit offer that they WANT him and only him, not unlike what Michigan did to get him back 8 years ago.

He is not actively looking for it so he is being true to his word. But, should Indy come to him and say, "The job is yours and on your terms to make us relevant again. Tell us what you need to start ASAP and we'll make it happen" then I can only bet he'll be gone.

Short of that, he'll be the coach of the U of M this year.

I think you hit the nail on the head. He is not actively looking but if an NFL team approaches him and gives him everything he wants to run a team he would take the job. I think he wants all control and I’m not sure an NFL team will agree to it but you never know

They have batter wife syndrome so bad.

I saw some trying to link it to his Christian beliefs...

It's like no he'd lied to you. Wether you want him back or no. He's clearly going to do the NFL thing every year till he takes it or the NFL stops having any interest

Lol yea that too. Fucking clown show over there trying to defend their savior.

You also get the odd praise from some for "HOW HONEST HE IS!!!11!!"

Brass tacks tho? I really couldn't give a damn about Jim's honesty and pretending this isn't how the business works is naive and childish.

What's burning my ass is what should be burning it; this dude is taking a sledgehammer to our recruiting. Everything else is just noise. The last two classes have been trash, and this year's class is also going to be trash because January is when you win recruiting.

It's totally binary; do or do not. Jim can be a complete scumbag hiding behind his faith for all I care; total "Snow Dabo" if that's what it takes to get the talent needed to win. But when you're a scumbag AND you can't deliver the goods? Dawg, that's Arky. We can't be Arky.

Get him out of here now. I've seen enough.

It's really self sabotage. Very odd. Unless he's really just a asshole playing the long con. He probably knows he has maybe 1 season of "sure" success left before he starts losing all his key pieces that have been there forever now. Play the pot up even more this year, and even if he doesn't leave after this season, maybe squeeze a little more out of Michigan and make the exit after next season before the gravy train runs out.

I think instead of battered wife, this seems to me like a wife who cheats on their husband every year, and flaunts it, and the husband is still proud of his wife, with the pictures on his desk of a "happy marriage."

It's not even comical. It's sad.

It's very well established he's a titanic asshole. That's why the Niners ran him outta town on a rail after one "meh" season.
