Since everyone hates the lakers and spurs, here's the series thread here.

It's not like we're talking about Dirk Nowitski and the Mavs here. This is Tim Duncan and the Spurs. They've won 4 titles. Yeah, it's a bad loss. But I guarantee you that all this veteran team sees is 1-0 with a chance for a split still there.

I don't think it's a mental issue with the Spurs, I just think the sports gods will get you when a chance presents itself and you don't take advantage.

I think I saw a stat today that said Phil Jackson coached teams are 40-0 when winning game 1 of a 7 game series. Its a big deal imo.

Yeah, but it isn't like it was just a close loss...They were up 20...That is going to be a tough pill swallow especially if they don't get game 2 and go back home 2-0 knowing they should of won game 1...
True enough, but is it really worse than getting blown out the first two games like they did against the Hornets? Myself, I'd rather have a close loss, but that's just me. 20-point leads disappear all the time in the NBA, especially when the calls start going the other way, as they invariably do when you're playing on the road. If this had happened at SA, I'd agree it's devastating. But on the road, it's more or less what I expected. The only surprise to me was that the Lakers were ever down by that much.

This one looks like it will probably go all 7. I may have to revoke my previous prediction of the Lakers in 5.

I am figuring a six or seven game series. These are the defending champs and there are a lot of great players on both teams, so it should be an interesting series.

Very good all-around team effort. I was stoked to see such energy out of D-Fish and Lamar at the outset. 30-point win is quite a bit larger than I had thought would occur.

They were blown out in New Orleans the first two games, I am not counting any chickens yet, if we can win games 3 or 4, then, maybe.

Lakers > Hornets by a lot and no one, Spurs or anyone else, can keep spotting good teams a 2-0 lead and win a 7 game series. I think I saw the number is at 14 out of 222 teams that fell behind 0-2 have come back to win and that included the Spurs recent win over NO. Thats a 6% success rate. You can make a pretty healthy living gambling on those kind of odds.

I say the Spurs play the best they can, take Game 3 but the Lakers win a close game 4. Lakers are playing with house money on Sunday all the pressure is on SA.

Kobe gets his team mates involved and when the team needs a lift or come from behind like the other day, down by 20 Kobe get heated up and took over. I like LA to take the series over SA. SA don't have it this year even though they are defending NBA champs. The lakeshow will go to the finals IMO.

Kobe MVP and that is well deserved.
