It supports DUAL HDTV's?!?! Good LORD!

Lets see, on top of that this thing has bluetooth controllers, wifi (to sync w/ your PSP), THREE ethernet ports, supports almost all flash media, and already a boatload of games slated to release.

Only thing it can't do is my laundry...

Couple of things...

First of all, why the heck did they curve the console? I mean it looks cool, but now you can't even set a game on top of it. Not very useful shape if you ask me, cuz at college you constantly are gonna be setting stuff on top of things or stacking consoles.

Two, that controller looks weird. The microsoft controller already had the PS2 controller beat in terms of comfort (it was the lack of the L2/R2 buttons that kept PS2 in the controller race at all)... so it should be interesting to see how such a skinny controller feels.

Three, dual hdtv's don't sound very useful, but maybe that's just me. I guess I don't see much more than 2-4% of PS3 players having access to that kind of equipment. It is cool tho.

Sounds like it is going to be more powerful tho. However I wanna see the two systems actually run the games, b/c a system with a triple-processing core might not achieve the same top end numbers but could possibly be more stable during rendering detail spikes.

Looks good.

Damn it though, it looks as though I'll have to get both systems again. I'll probably get the 360 when it comes out (since it's first,) and get the PS3 after it's first price drop. I did that in reverse order when the last generation of game consoles were released, and that worked fine for me.

Ill give you that the new controller looks weird.
But in no way would I call the Xbox controller more comfortable.
For me, the PS1 and 2 controllers are perfect.
Hopefully those long grips just make nice handles, and they didn't change too much of the original feel.

I'm of course talking about the smallies, not the big huge ones that were the worst controller since dreamcast.

I like the ps2 controllers too, they weren't bad in anyway. They just weren't as ergonomic in terms of fitting to your hand.

Should be interesting to see how the two controllers compare.

It is also quite interesting that Final Fantasy will be on the xbox, as that was one of the Sony's crown jewels. It doesn't make or break either, just an interesting factoid.

Honestly, I don't see either system disappointing considering that they are saying the processing power in these things outdoes most gaming PCs.

I also want to know how Xbox360's 1 teraflop compares to PS3's 2 teraflops... as it could be more like 1.2 vs. 1.8 or something.

I think the deal with the controllers is based on what you're used to. As I've almost solely played PS2, I really only like the PS2 controllers. To me, XBox controllers feel weird. My brother, who has an XBox, is the opposite. I'm sure that if I get a PS3, I'll get used to the controller.

I skimmed through the link, but not very carefully. Does it say anything about needing or not needing an adapter to get 4-controllers connected? I always thought that was a low-blow way to get another $20 from me.

The controllers are all wireless, Bluetooth so you can have SEVEN at a time. Why not eight, I don't know, but yeah, wow.

I like the look of them, they seem like they'll fit with the natural curvature of my hands and that's enjoyable.

Can't wait for this.

Bluetooth technology is what causes you to only have 7.

It allows 8 devices to interact with the hub at any one time.. the PS3 is one device, plus 7 controllers.

Also, the Sony guy at E3 strictly said that the controller was a prototype and most likely would not make it to production.. he made a special point to emphasize that.

okay... couple questions... since PS3 will be able to read every disc known to man, will we be able to play Counterstrike or other PC games on it? will we be able to play Halo2 on it? i don't see that happening, so what's the point?

second, i know what 3.2 GHz is... it's fast as shit, but what the heck is a teraflop???
