Sound Off !!! - Introduce Yourself

Can't say when I became a buckeye fan, since birth maybe. Been to 15 games, been to about 40 heinygates. Few baseball games, few basketball games, and 1 hockey game. Been to the Jesse Owens track meet a couple of times.

Fav game, 2002 NC game. Which brings up my second passion, I hate the U with such a vigor that can't be explained. Hell, I can't even root for the browns anymore, that damn soldier

I also somehow managed to join BP a while ago and never made it over here...

Been a Buckeye fan as long as I can remember, but what sealed it was the 1984 team with Byars, Carter, Pepper, Woolridge, Karsatos, Lanese, Spielman, Uhlenhake, etc. I just remember Cris Carter making a catch in the 1985 Citrus Bowl against BYU on the sidelines with one hand to wrap up a 10-7 Buckeye win. I also remember a year later Coach Bruce looking rather dapper as Spielman picked off a Texas A&M pass and returned it for six. From those days on, I was sold...

Went to school in NYC at Fordham, on a rugby scholarship (first of its kind at Fordham)...tried unsuccessfully while out East to convert the entire tri-state area into Buckeye fans...worked on Wall Street for 4 years for the broker/dealer of a major insurance company...moved back to Columbus post-9/11 to work in the employee benefits/investment management business...now split time between work and coaching rugby at The Ohio State University, where I try desperately to inject rugby into the mainstream, thus my shameless plugs for the team every chance I get (message board posts, emails, avatars, signatures, etc.).

GO BUCKS!!!

Hello!

I've posted a few times, but never sounded off.

I live in Las Vegas, but was born in Barberton and raised in Akron and Alliance. I've been a fan since I can remember, and to this day my grandpa still calls me at the crack of dawn that late november saturday to make sure I'm up.

I've only been to 2 Buckeye football games (that I can remember) '03 Washington (electricity, pure electricity in the stadium that night) and '04 Fiesta vs. KState.

My best buckeye memory was beating Michigan to go to the Fiesta Bowl in '02. (Winning the NC was awesome, but beating Michigan to get there was the best)

Worst buckeye memory ...Biakabatuka.

I grew up in Harrison, Ohio (just outside Cincinnati) and have been a Buckeye since a I was a little kid. I became bored after a couple of quarters at UC and joined the Army. I spent four years in Washington and two in Germany. It's too bad they didn't have ESPN Gameplan in the early 90's. It really sucks to have to get up and be at a sportsbar at 9 A.M. (especially when you didn't leave that same sports bar until 2 A.M.)

I left the Army in 1999, moved to Columbus, joined the Air National Guard. If you're reading this kn1f3party, the 121st ARW is full of good people and they don't schedule drills on weekends with tOSU home games.

I attended tOSU in 2001 and 2002 until some strange urge sent me back to the Army. I left for Germany in July 2003, got married in December, and left for Iraq in January. I've talked my wife into attending tOSU with me after this enlistment (she originally wanted to go to Oregon State.)

I've been to 19 buckeyes games, my favorite being the 14-9 victory over Michigan in 2002. My favorite buckeye is probably Eddie George.

I used to lurk around bucknuts a lot in 2001 and 2002. I went back there at the beginning of this season and I hardly recognized anyone. I finally found BuckeyePlanet and feel much more comfortable in my lurking.

Go Bucks!

i was born in new jersey in 1974 but moved to toledo, OH (actually Sylvania for those that know T-town) during the blizzard of 1979. OUr close family friends turned out to be major buckeye fans (dad graduated from there, the uncle was woody hayes right hand man and is now actually still involved in teh athletic dept..he's director of alumni services...he's kind of a dick btw) anyway, so these friends of mine (they had kids my age) were lucky....due to their connection, they'd always go down to Cbus to do lunch w/various OSU qb's like mike tomzcak, tom tupa, etc etc. and thru them....since i was really active as a kid in sports....i became a buckeye fan.

fast forward to 1992. i was a mediocre high school graduate w/lots of potential. i got rejected by miami of ohio and accepted by OSU and OU. no way was i going to OU...and looking back...thank g-d i got rejected by miami! that place is sooo boring. but anyway, i graduated from OSU in 1998 and left for chicago in 2000. my days in columbus were the best....i seriuosly could not have asked for a better group of friends and abetter place to party. we really did it up....and still to this day nothing beat the memory of (when not at the game) waking up...or sometimes styaing up all night friday ....and gluing myself to the couch...watching Eddie run for about 300 yards and running to my door at each touchdown so i could hear the roar coming from the shoe....and i still bleed scarlet and grey and reprezent in chitown to the fullest!

also my gf...who will someday be my wife...while she went ot wisconsin, her parents both graduated from OSU. and every bday and hanukah (we're jewish) i'm so easy to shop for b/c all you have to do is buy me something w/the oSU logo on it. this hanukah they got me these red slippers w/the block O on it....and i love them!

anyway, i lived in Smith Hall my freshman year..then moved to 106 E. Lane..then 35 E. Northwood...then 1874 North High St. (probalby was the most fun)...then downtown to Town Street and the Americana building at 380 s. 5th. favorite players would probably have to be Eddie George (who i met outside of longs) and David Boston. maybe Mike Doss too.

anytime i see someone wearing buckeye gear here in chitown i always say hi to them...and it's awesome...it's a real fraternity....

i've been to jack sullivans for a few games but the food there sux and i'd rather watch from home w/a few friends. luckily i have some close buckeye friends in the city..but frankly..as long as i can watch the game..even if i'm alone...i'm 100% content.

Hello, and what a great idea!!
My name is Joey, 25, and been a Buckeye fan since birth. I work at the Sheriff's Dept. in Hamilton County, but unfortunately in Cincinnati it seems the scUM fans out number us true football fans. I am married and have 2 children, my son is 5 and there is nothing greater than raising your own little Buckeye. I take great pride in helping him despise those awful colors, and this year he went to his first skull session. My daughter is 1, and every home game all of us pack in the car and ride up to Columbus to spend the day with family & watching the 'Bucks pummel opponents.

MilianiBuckeye, I used to live in Ewa Beach while stationed at Schofield Barracks, and know all to well about those 0600a.m. kickoffs

First time poster here!

I am 27 and live in Nashville, TN. Grew up on the west side of Cleveland and have been a buckeye fan for life. I have been married for 5 years and have a daughter that is 16 months old. Yes she is a buckeye fan! The wife is from Illinois but I do not hold that against her.

I attended Valparaiso University on a tennis scholarship and was there when Bryce Drew hit the last second shot against Ole Miss.

I went to work for my father-in-law right out of college and then made the move to Dell in Nashville 4 years ago. Needed to make more money.

My grandfather coached at tOSU when Woody was there and our family have been Buckeye fans since.

I live in Zanesville, OH and graduated from Philo High School and played baseball at Marietta College. I have known Thump most of my life, good guy. I actually grew up in Roseville(Crumps brother, I thought it was cool to see you had a connection to that dump)

I have been a Buckeye fan since I was old enough to shit in my pants. I hate UM and UM fans from Ohio even more. I am a HS football coach and I am completely addicted to the game.

Oh, yeah...I am also a BN defect.

GO BUCKS

Wow, I can't believe it took me this long to find this place. I was wondering what happened to all the posters at the other place. I was an active participant over on Bucknuts for sometime till it became a prison. Still lurked over there to keep up on the gossip and such, but have been spending most of my time at the OZONE.

As for me, I was born a BUCKEYE, have always been a BUCKEYE, and will never stop being a BUCKEYE. The neo is for northeast OHIO, which i have lived all over, currently on a little piece of paradise in Portage County.

Looking forward to spending some time here at my new BUCKEYE home, the place looks great!

I'm really behind the curve - first time I "sounding off" here....

Anyway - born and raised in northern NJ - think "Sopranos" and you'd be pretty close. Blue collar upbringing - second youngest of five boys. Played baseball, football, and wrestling in high school. Also boxed amateur for a few years. Went to OSU on ride, picked up degree in physics, philosophy, and econ. Came back to NE coast after graduation and went to work on the Street in MBS. Back to B-school at Columbia and graduated in 2000. Went to back to the Street to work in tax-exempt derivatives for a couple years, but hated it and came back to MBS, where I currently run an MBS analytics group. Currently live in the city, but thinking about the NJ burbs once this housing bubble breaks. Still not sure I want to give up 15 min commutes though.

Not currently married, but have been entertaining thoughts of it lately - current gf is 24, a Wharton grad, and draws constant comparisions to Charlize Theron. (I can send you a pic and you can tell me if you think so....). Anyway, this lucky guy doesn't think it gets any better than this. Maybe time to cash in the chips after winning the whole damn pot!

Favorite Buckeye include Joe Germaine and Eddie George. I have been known to be one of the more cantankerous members of this board and Bucknuts, but those who know me know that nothing in my give an take is personal. (Well, ALMOST never....) Looking forward to the day that I can come out to C-bus for a game and have a brew with some of the people that Ive aggravated over the past few years......

I go to college in Southern Illinois. Wanted to go to Ohio State but my scholarship there was not enough...room and board killed me. I got a full ride to my current college (plus I can commute there by car) so decided to go there. I'm majoring in Business.

I am 20 years old. I have been watching Buckeye sports (mainly basketball and football) for about 15 years. My favorite player throughout all those years was Mike Doss. What a class act.
