Tackett Curtis (LB Southern Cal, transfer to Wisconsin)

I remember USC also beating us
Not concerned.

Base D is now 2 true LBs. The days of the straightline thumper are over.

The 4-2-5 is a fluid, fast defense capable of multiple looks and matchups.

Spill it and kill it.

OSU has about 10 LBs for 2 spots, and we're worrying about a 1 dimensional LB, SMH. We'll be fine

Completely right and happy to walk through the nuances there...but, really the happiest part of my day is seeing you back here posting. Hope to see you back regularly. To bring it full circle, we need you posting here more than Knowles needs Curtis at LB.

USC is a phenomenal school with amazing weather and it’s not unreasonable for him to think that the depth chart is favorable as well as thinking that USC will be a top tier program in a couple of years. Don’t think he could’ve went wrong with either school, sucks but with new defense OSU will need to show an improvement next year imo as almost entirely new staff and new system. As stated by others, ‘24 will show what we have with Knowles at The LB position

Tressel thought this in 2010. Wisconsin had other thoughts.

Lots of offensive changes in 12 years, but your point is valid in spots. Some teams are still old school smash mouth and adjustments must be made. The 4-2-5 easily adapts to that formation-wise or personnel-wise. The "straightline thumper" was there for your Lorenzo Neals...when you see a FB as a major player in a game, you will see a thumper. When that FB comes out, so will the guy who can only fill a gap.

The 4-2-5 easily adapts to that formation-wise or personnel-wise when you have a competent DC running the show. The "straightline thumper" was there for your Lorenzo Neals...when you see a FB as a major player in a game, you will see a thumper. When that FB comes out, so will the guy who can only fill a gap.
Added an important piece of the puzzle.
