TE Jeremy Ruckert (New York Jets)

We could've used some of this in our run game this year....

Yeah….in fairness to Cade, I feel like he does a good job when at end of line as a traditional TE. He’s physical and I assume it’s just more natural when your assignment is typically lined up in front of you.

He struggles in space. Maybe that comes more naturally to him with the extra year and further development. It’s not a lack of effort……just think he needs more spatial awareness and quicker reaction to college DB’s. The PSU game sticks out in my mind where they kept throwing WR screens and he kept whiffing on his assignment…..he just wasn’t getting to the DB nearly quick enough. I feel like they can coach him up though.

did anyone else think stover was a bit… bigger… than he needed to be this season? he looked heavy to me and maybe that contributed to troubles in space

Honestly I think he has a lower body injury. Look at his speed in the TSUN game vs what he had shown earlier in the year. He looked down a gear if not two. He wasn't much faster then the lineman by the end of the year

Wilson caught nine passes for a season-high 108 yards to lead the Jets in receiving while Ruckert caught three passes for a career-high 37 yards.

Ruckert’s day was highlighted by an impressive second-effort catch on which he dove to catch an 11-yard throw from Zach Wilson and tipped the ball to himself before securing possession.
